when i shift to 4x4 low, it sorta grinds. it's less of a grind and more of a metal on metal single creeking sound. it seems like it would grind some if i did it slowly. in the end it shifts into 4 low but what could the issue be? hopefully not a costly one haha.

i think my second battery is going out. what are the best batteries to use? do i need two of the same kind of battery? also, any danger of wearing out my brand new starter in the meantime until i can get a new battery?

how do you get the stinkin bolt out? i have drilled a small pilot, inserted a kobalt screw extractor, and tried to get it out. the extractor is squared so it doesn't work in a drill...i cant get the drill to grab it tight enough. so i tried a T-bar style wrench specifically for square bits...

I have a broken starter bolt closest to the rear of the truck. The driveshaft is in the way and I can't get a good angle to drill. My question is how hard is it to disconnect the front driveshaft?

i am looking at purchasing an 1008 but the ignition switch is snapped off so we don't know if it runs. is there a way to hot wire it? or is it easier to replace the ignition key switch in the steering column? how would you replace the ignition switch?
