    Alternative fuels in modern engines

One thing I might add about the waste engine oil is that the quality and consistency can vary widely from supply to supply, and then it may even vary on quality each time from the same supplier. Seems like places that have a used oil storage tank tend to have many products dumped in...

    M123 and M125 10-tons

The only real problem with this truck is the estrogen factor. It appears that money, time, and permission is being divested due to its presence. Owning a very large impractical vehicle will cure the estrogen poisoning that is happening in your life. That might be why I got into the military...

    Alternative fuels in modern engines

A local biodiesel plant put their first official batch in a Jeep liberty diesel B100. Didn't make it out of the parking lot. While the specs pass as #2 diesel, many of these modern diesel engines have viscosity sensors/fuel burn sensors that can tell when something other than #2 is being used...

How do I get rid of canvas mildew smell?

Something that works great on organic odors is some sort of a cleaner/deodorizer that has a bacterial or enzyme in it. You might try a janitorial supply company. One product that I have used is from Spartan Chemical called consume. I may have a bottle or two around here I can give you.

    Georgia Rally for 2016 ???

A trip from Iowa in the deuce would be kind of exhausting and time consuming, yet fun if there were enough people along the way to convoy with.

BA-DA BA-DA BING BANG RALLY - Atlantic, IA

Hopefully some year I won't be tied up with a mv gathering at the same time and will be able to venture across the state to yours.

    Uses for Deuces

I remember seeing them advertised in the back of farm magazines in the 70's and early 80's (prior to the 3 and 4 wheel atvs). Didn't realize they were still around. Glad to see that the company is still producing a product and there is still a market for them.

Sounds like you should have remained single.

    The VTCS m756a2 Pipeline Truck

Last week, I could have used that rig to set up a radio tower at my place. This truck is on my list of one to find and purchase some day. You can always have an M35A2, but you aren't always going to have an M756A2.

So You Want to Buy a Deuce

This is one of the best threads for someone looking to get one. Helpful instead of telling someone to go download a tech manual and read previous forums. A few additional things I would add to the list: Have you ever operated a truck larger than a 1 ton pick up or U-Haul? Even though a...

Is a Deuce "Whistler" Turbo on 6.2 worth considering?

My dad said he loves the sound of my whistler. Reminds him of the first diesel tractors in the 1960's when everyone starting slapping M&W turbos on them. One guy told me to never change the turbo on my truck because he said it reminded him of the days when he was in the military. Said that...

Anyone want to have a MV gathering in Missouri?

Might be kind of fun. Long run in the deuce from SE Iowa to St. Louis.

Are exhaust stacks illegal on a pickup truck?

Regarding exhaust exiting at the rear of the vehicle, wonder how that would work if one was operating an aircraft refueler? Most of the ones I've seen have the exhaust right behind the front bumper.

So, what's the one thing you'd change?

I wanted to thank Patracy for making one big change on here a while back. It was the new rule about not just saying " go use the search function" and " read the tech manual" but explain a bit of what to search for, or where to find it in the tech manual. It seems like it has led to a more...

NY and all others(?) change CDL Permit standards

Gotcha. Had my CDL since 1998 and forgot about them having the learner's permit.

NY and all others(?) change CDL Permit standards

"...Permits only last 6 months and can only be renewed for 6 months max - thereafter retesting is needed." When you say permits, are you meaning endorsements or are you inferring things like over-width, special loads, and over-weight permits? I really can't say as though I can see the DOT...

    GovPlanet RESTRICTIONS & Updates

Time to go back to the good old days of actual live bidding of equipment, complete with an auctioneer. Physically inspect while there, purchase, leave with equipment the same day.
