Anyone done or heard of repowering an older 5 ton with a newer diesel of any type? I have a 1954 bridge truck with a 6602 in it and was wondering if anyone here has done a diesel re-power on one of these older trucks.

Well, here we go. Time to get dirty. Head gaskets were slobbering real bad between heads. Probably close to 1/2 gallon a minute. Gonna see if we can't remedy that with a new set of gaskets. I would like to mention the fact that FreightTrain donated the gaskets to the cause. I could not find...

Just happened on this one by chance... Had to trade my 2 50s M211 Whitenburg civialian farm conversions and a gun for. Needs a head gasket and some other small things...will post as she progresses. I have six tires for single conversion but only 5 older military 2 piece rims/wheels...Any help...

Is there anywhere to find head gaskets for the LDS 465 1A? All I could find was complete gasket sets which run over $700.00. Pretty sad when you can get the complete overhauled engine for not much more than the gasket set!!!
