been using it all summer. got as high as 90% waste oil in summer. a little harder to start when cold. i am back to 25% waste oil now. cleveland weather is crazy this time of year. i am running veggie oil from a cafeteria. i use filter cones from gfs and pour right into my tank.

out of ideas. no start m1008

when you say slid into place, is the j shaped piece supposed to hook around the linkage or does it just ride up and down like a cam?

out of ideas. no start m1008

about 3 weeks ago i was driving down the intersate in my m1008. motor just quit. i thought i ran out of fuel. i know, the gas gauge broke a week earlier. got it towed home. added fuel and tried to start it with no luck. bled it out and still nothing. i squirted a little diesel down the intake...

Looking for second opinion on low power

you are gonna have to bite the bullet and try to find the preformed hose. any 73-87 c-k series truck with a v8 should work...

    injector solenoid

first off, thank god for the internet and my fellow cucv enthusiasts! 1986 m1008 stopped running. had it towed. thought it was a fuel issue. when i pull the pink wire, turn the key to on, and touch the connector i get a spark, but no click. i checked this on my other 2 trucks and it definitely...

    Exciter Wire Question

welcome to the club!! mine was down for 3 weeks too. i pulled the #2 alternator, took it to a great repair shop and it bench tested fine. ripped the whole friggin dash out, checked all wiring, checked relays, checked fuses, jumped relays, etc....you get the point. at the end my buddy says there...

sorry nickaru!! i bought one and then had second thoughts and bought the other one off of him the next day. he had a few left when i bought my last one. go to a GM dealer and have him put in that part number. he can tell you the closest place they are available. i think there were a few in iowa...

    breaks

buy a coil of 3/16" steel line. it should be a 25 foot coil for around 30 bucks. that will cover fronts and rears from side to side. front to rear is 1/4". buy a few sections and put them together with unions. its super easy to bend steel lines if its a coil.

    ATF Flow Direction

you gotta watch the flush jobs though. transmission fluid has a lot of detergent in it. when you introduce new fluid to the transmission you risk wiping out the seals. i worked in a few shops that would not warn people and about a week later the transmission was puking from the front pump seal...

    1008 Steering wobble from bump

stabilizer would be my guess. i sold autoparts for 9 years and gm trucks ate these things up like potato chips. moog brand is around $70.00. you can get a house brand, like federated, for about 30.00. moog is usually lifetime. house brands are 1 year. 5 minute fix. just did my 2 out of 3 trucks...

    M1009 wont start

look for air in fuel line. mine did the same thing. line was rusted back by the tank. try the bleeding procedure and see if it starts and runs again for a little while.

    fuel aditive in your tank

i use diesel 911 every second tankful. as an added bonus i go to lowes and buy the additive that you put into kerosene heaters to scent the room. sometime i smell like a pinecone, sometimes sugar cookies. it all depends on my mood. (and yes i am serious)
