Thanks for responding. I will double check the connections. There is an air switch and contactor that I will check also; however, when I listen closely after energizing the unit, the clicking sound seems to be coming from inside the power absorber.

Yes, I have a Essex Electro Engineers 427A and have used it once so far for 1 Phase. Once the weather here clears up some, I will be testing my MEP 803A for both 1 and 3 phases.

Thanks for the wires identification. I just had the side panel removed in taking off he difficult fuel water/separator and recall seeing the wires you referenced. I wll take note.
Now that's a mangled fuel filter water/separator. The one I removed was in bad shape also and I even managed to take off the nut attached to the bottom trying to remove it.
