What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

So I had a guy claiming he was seriously interested in purchasing my truck. I knew it needed batteries and have hesitated spending the money and also determined that the starter was on its way out. After he stressed to me how interested he was in the truck, I proceeded to put a new $300.00...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Installed a solargizer on it today. Put one on my other 5 Ton a year ago and the batteries seem to be keeping their charge. The truck I installed it on today is always dead. Hope it works as I cannot afford batteries.

Who has attached a snowplow to their M1009.?

Plow I am a Snowbear dealer in MI. Light weight, about 200Lbs. I put one on my blazer and several other vehicles. They are simple to install and perfect if your not looking to do commercial plowing. Good for your driveway and a neighbor or a parking lot.

    Safe crane operation

No Outriggers After reading this thread I realized I used my wrecker once without setting the outriggers. It did not lean much, but I am in the business of boom trucks and should have deployed the outriggers before doing anything else. Seems like common sense, but easily overlooked. I guess...

    Tires

HMMWV Tires I had them on my M887 in Saudi and just trimmed the bottom corners of the fenders and never had a problem. I recently put them on my ambulance with a 4" lift and it feels good going down the road but the front clip shakes pretty good at 55MPH.

Possible Support Needed for Road Trip

Progress Washed it and started painting some clear coat over the faded paint. For what it is it's looking like a new truck compared to when I first picked it up. I also sand blasted and painted the cab guard. Detailed some things with black gloss paint and applied non-skid paint to the deck...

    HMMWV Utility Truck

I saw this in my travels and had to take a picture. I work on truck mounted man lifts for a living and had never seen one mounted on a HMMWV. I was told there were 12 built. We actually did an inspection on it for the guy and it appeared to be put on by the boom MFG. At first sight I thought...

Movie Vehicle Rental - Central Texas

I had a low budget film company rent my 2 deuces for the day a few years ago. I told them $600.00 a truck with drivers. They said it would be a few hours. Ended up being 12 hours and not really worth all the aggravation.
