Ok guys.....Sorry about the delay in updates! I was up to my eyeballs in that loco moving job I mentioned but I just got done with it. I simply had no time to go on SS..... 
I did not get the FEMTT done, so I had to borrow a truck for the job. I will start working on the FEMTT again this week and will continue the thread.

Back to the driver's side of the doghouse, I like Rambling Wreck's idea of the toolbox/cabinet, but I would put the hinge on the bottom instead of the top. That way you could fold it down and have a platform to stand/sit while working on the motor.

I believe all of the A4 HEMTT'S have the spare tire on top like that.

This is correct. the A4 version moved the spare up top. A3s and lower usually have them mounted on the side.
