RE: Re: im comen too

Guys,
Don't forget to head over to the convoy website and register. It'll really help us out as we get closer since Mike has some functions built into the site that help out greatly form a managment standpoint (ability to send out group notices for instance), and we need to know how many shirts to get in each size, etc...

I'm really excited about having a group comming in from West of the rally, and can't wait to meet everyone in person.

cc may be meeten you guys at the pilot too

That's fine. Just let us know who will be where, so we don't leave anyone behind

The basic route I have laid out is I-70 E starting on the east side of Columbus, OH and continuing on I-70 all the way to Maryland. There will likely be smaller groups joining together before Columbus. (for example, it looks like Hookin1, Gimpyrobb, and I will be gathering in Cincinnati, OH, and then head up I-71 to Columbus, OH AND it appears that there may be a Michigan group that will be gathering together before the Columbus rally point ) If you want to add a stopping place on the route to join up, let me know. I will try to make it as convenient as possible for everyone that would like to participate. I am open to any and all suggestions.

Thanks guys.

BTW:
If anyone has convoy lights or convoy signs, let me know - we have a special place for you!!

if we fill up at the pilot station we should be able to make it to abedeen on one tank
Speak for your self there pilgrim~ Just kidding, but really I would love to go all the way to MD but I can't. I will just be tagging along for a bit from Columbus to Wheeling. BUT if I were going, there is no way I could go all the way on one tank. From Kirkersville, OH (Just outside the Pilot location) to Aberdeen, MD is around 430 miles. My 24 gallon tank MAY get me 200-220 miles. :(

I was looking at the times, and I don't think another rest stop/fueling can be squeezed in and still make the 1400 meet in Aberdeen. From Smithton to Aberdeen is 250ish miles and we're already scheduled to make that run in four hours. In my CUCV that wouldn't be an issue, but I wonder about the guys/gals in the big rigs. Maybe we should shift the Thursday schedule to heading out a bit earlier? I haven't checked the route further west than that because that's where I plan on meeting up with the convoy. Maybe check the mileage with an average speed of 50 or so? :?:

Either way, I'm good with it, if you wanna stop, we'll stop! [thumbzup]

Good point. I should reevaluate the times after adding stops so that our arrival can remain the same. I was trying to space the stops out so that we could get out and stretch our legs/kick the tires/check the oil/visit the restroom/etc. in addition to getting fuel if needed.

Any other feedback? We should finalize the schedule soon. Does anyone have any other requests??

Is there anyone from Western Pennsylvania that wants to join?

ok got my plan all ready to roll. I will be leaving Wisconsin around at 4am Wednesday. Im trying to drive in the day time. I should make it to the first rally point befor 3:30. Is there anyone that is shooting down 75 to 70? Im thinking I should be hitting 75 south (Lima OH) around noon or so. I was thinking that we cound convoy in to Columbus and on to the fuel stop on 70.

If any of you guys on this rout want to camp out at my place that is fine. You can use the bathrooms and shower down in the lake building. We have a full shop if you need the trucks worked on. There is plenty of room for the whole convoy if needed. I will be leaving early on the 10th but my dad will be here if you need something. We are only 15 min from the smithton truck stop just 7 miles north of RT 51. It is the exit before the smithton one.
