Stopped over by the Commander's AO this afternoon to deliver a case of...er....water and to have a little look at the BEHR paint he applied (4 coats) after breakfast this morning.

The paint was still just a little "tacky" and still shines just a bit but it will be just right when it fully cures.

While we were there Tony got on his magic phone and ordered new tires.:-D

I was pleasantly surprised to see this:

That Mutt (it IS a Mutt, right?), looks brand spanking new. :naner:[thumbzup]

I think it was mentioned here somewhere already, but what's the story; where did she come from?!

Yes, I envy you.
Came in looking like something dragged out of a junk yard, ready for China, and now looks factory, showing signs of very light service.

You can ask Ferro how nice that Behr paint works keeping mud.dirt.meteors.zombies from sticking to the paint and its durable as ****.
Did I mention I am a cheap SOB.
Besides I am spraying this outside - that clinches it.
It has held up amazingly well for several years now. Got some black spots from sitting under a pecan tree for awhile, a quick wash with light scrubbing and it looks just as good as the day it was painted.

Looks Great! Just enough waffles and dents in the bed to let people know it has seen service.8)
I do not remember any equipped with the 3 blade fan.
This was not a restoration but a preservation mission to bring the jeep back to "motor pool ready status"...but of course the Commander always takes things a step further.

The three blade fan was added for waterborne operations.

That is the way it should look, not flawless, and better than factory.
It should have some "personalization" to show it is the real deal, and saw service, that it did not sit in a crate from build day to auction day.

Sent IFS pic this morning with the paint dried out but still not hard to give a better perspective on my choice ... kinda put myself on the hook letting me shoot this in Behr Marquee.24087.
Will leave it alone for today and finish up fabbing the M170 passenger seat base. Then I can tear it all apart...paint it...re-assemble it when done. Then FINALLY onto the engine.

I will probably wind up upholstering the seats as well. See if I can find some used canvas at the Ga Rally for the owner.

Larry covered the finale of the M151 on his separate thread.
Pulled all the fabbed stuff out and painted it today.
Stretcher hoop for the drivers seat fabbed out - lock down for the outside stretcher finished.
seat bases finished up outside of running to hobby lobby tomorrow and getting seat foam - then 3M High Tack spray contact cement - I purchased a piece of used shelter OD cover from a local surplus store here so we are nearly good to go on getting these seats and patients cushions finished up - THEN ONTO THE ENGINE FINALLY. Cannot wait to hear this baby RUMBLE.20160920_110029_001.jpg20160925_095543.jpg20160925_100022_001.jpg20160925_102044_001.jpg20160925_103637.jpg20160925_113611_001.jpg20160927_142115.jpg20160927_142205_001.jpg20160928_114014.jpg20160928_114051.jpg

picked up foam for the seats and some material - finally got them all upholstered-
For the upper right stretcher - had to fab all the pieces to make the stretcher handle loop hold downs.
Hopefully start back on the engine tomorrow
