Another "new" Deuce owner in Michigan

Do you mind if I ask what the bike was? As Ahab said, unless it was an exotic like a cherry Bultaco, CZ, etc you did great for what appears to be a nice truck.

    M109 Box

I have an old friend who has an M109. It's naturally aspirated and still has a sprag front end. He has made it into a camper and I'm happy that he loves it. IMO, its way too heavy for the space you get. That box is awfully dang heavy for its size. For a pre-made camper, looking at cab-over...

The big trip and a new MV.

Rusty, I once had a tstat go out on a recently rebuilt 240z going from Alabama to Wyoming 25yrs ago. I cut out a hole for a restrictor out of a beer can and made gaskets out of notebook covers and made it to Cheyenne in May "I think". 287? out of south Texas heading north? No Autozones...

Has anyone ever just put a camper shell on a deuce instead of modifying a M109?

I personally want to make mine removable. Maybe an older Lance 1031? Someone has a similar build with an older camper on here. Havent made any measurements or studied into it much. Maybe the jack kits for a dually with extensions would make it easily removable. From what I've seen, the 109...

    Rear main seal

I have to go through this when the weather breaks. I think I will order said gasket when the clutch, pressure plate, alignment tool and throwout bearing is ordered. Can't be expensive. My local parts house got me a National seal pn415725 which was the second choice? Apparently the first choice...

m35a2c What does the "C" mean?

the c turbo is almost unbearable as far as noise. My "d" turbo is quiet (no designation) . Kind of confusing.

m35a2c What does the "C" mean?

On an m35a2c, the "C" means clean air as in turbo. The turbo was added to make the smoke go away. It only added 5hp but made most of the smoke go away. I can still remember back in the seventies getting behind convoys of deuces belching black smoke. I was maybe a ten year old riding in the back...

IMO, it looks like a hydraulic unit for something.

Congrats on your recovery. According to the tracks, she got home under her own power. I'm sorry, I refer to any moving vehicle as a "she". Just a couple of questions. How far was the recovery? Did you air down the tires for the snow? How did the NDT's (use your own acronym) do on the snow? You...
