Burned Fusible Links after Starter Run-on Explained and Illustrated

There was a previous forum that stated to stop the starter run on during the event you simply have to pull out the relay under the dash. This situation happened to me in my 85 M1028. I had read the forum about starter run on, purchased a replacement relay (didn't install immediately though)and...

    Starter Rebuild

I have read many posts about starters, then mine went out. I had it rebuilt specifying it was a 24volt. I installed the rebuild and it cranked fast and only started twice, then nothing. The rebuilder (very reputable) used 12/24volt components the first time, the second rebuild he used only...

    filter base needed

I just replaced the whole unit about 3 months ago (mine was leaking from the pressure switch). Go to www.oem-surplus.com, select chevrolet and scroll down. You will come across the whole unit including a new filter for 49.95. A great deal:grin:. Their part # is 12471725.

    leaky filter base

I recently ordered and replaced my leaking fuel filter base (85 M1028) with the OEM part from the site listed. The unit comes with a filter and a place for the pressure switch. The location for the pressure switch is not drilled through, therefore you will not need a pressure switch. Mine worked...

    starting my cucvee!

I had a similar problem, the fix ended up with replacing the fuel filter base. I believe the pressure switch was leaking. I was unable to find a replacement switch so I replaced the whole unit. Problem solved. I started a similar post looking for information on a replacement fuel filter base...

leaking Model 80 fuel filter base

Thanks for all the information. I replaced the fuel filter base (new one was without the pressure switch) from www.oem-surplus.comand. I also installed new Wellman 70 glow plugs while I was working on it. The truck starts much better. It barely turns over and it's running. The main issue I...

The two left most dash lights are for the 4wd top and one of the alternators on the bottom. That is how they are on my 85 M1028.
