Should I buy this MEP 803A

I have an opportunity to get a MEP 803A for very cheap but it has some issues and I wanted to see if people with more experience with these had any inclination on this. it has 8000 hours on the dial, the current owner paid his mechanic to replace the engine and radiator with brand new ones, it...

    smoke under the dash

Turns out it was the starter switch, I was examining the wiring and it fell apart just from pulling lightly on the wiring, there was clearly some arcing damage inside. I was able to start the truck just fine jumping the wire to the starter relay without any overheating of the wire loom. Does...

    smoke under the dash

thanks for the tips, I'll examine the wires and connectors and make an update to help others that may see the same issue. Yes I know the safest thing is to disconnect the ground, I was rushing trying to avoid a fire and pulled the loosest connector I could find.

    smoke under the dash

My deuce has been sitting in my yard for a while having not been run, I recently put new batteries in it and as I was holding the starter switch the engine was cranking and I noticed smoke started coming out from under the dash. I turned everything off and pulled the positive terminal of the...

    stuck kingpin cap

I am in the middle of trying to replace my front axle seals and zipper boots with one piece replacements and have hit a snag. I cant seem to get the top kingpin cap off on the drivers side, the other 3 came off with a little coaxing but this one is firm. I have been soaking it in break free...

    bad turbo?

well I'm almost sure its slobber as its been sitting in the same spot only idling for a while while I have been working on a few things on it and needing air. However in my panic yesterday I put a bid in for a NOS replacement turbo and ended up winning it today for around 260 shipped. So I...

    bad turbo?

Ok i was able to get the exhaust side apart and take a look at thing, there is definitely no crack, there was just some flakey rust wedged in near the clamp. but it seems like there is a lot of oil in the first exhaust piece after the turbo and the flex pipe. do you guys think this may just be...

    bad turbo?

I'm running a fairly high oil mix right now. I'm going to pull it apart tomorrow morning and see what it looks like since it doesn't seem right. There is supposed to be 2 clamps on the exhaust then?

    bad turbo?

What do you guys think, Its hard to tell but it seems like there may be a crack on the side of the housing, I can feel hot air coming from somewhere and some oil is coming out near its connection to the exhaust. I just found it today so I haven't had a chance to look into in further. This is a...
