I have a couple of scrap cab fronts you might benefit from. They look to have complete sections for you instead of the patching. Contact me if you are interested. Great looking seats by the way.
VIN or production number is 81589548, my book is at work could tell you the approximate month and year, Ill check it tomorrow. Body number is 4290 denoting open cab, and 28312 would mean its the 28312th to be produced.
Bad news big guy, the throttle position in all the 3/4 & 1 1/2 ton WCs is the same. I myself am 5'6" and fit quite well. You are not the first tall guy to comment on this. More bad news, I am restoring a WC 63.
I shouldn't work, they are two different frame widths. And good luck finding a usable WC open cab that isn't already being used. They tend to be scarce.8-)
OK, this is something I might like on my WC-63 when I get it running. I can use all the performance upgrades I can find. Keep us informed, especially when you get the manifold dialed in.

The M37 was designed from the ground up, all new specs. Your idea sounds interesting, might be interesting to see if it works, good luck.
Now they did work on a prototype for an airlifted 1 1/2 ton, has the field break behind the cab. You could consider that as a possibility for the match up...
How the about simplest answer, it could be the only shim they had to attach the other bracket with. That or a nice 500 dollar "Bracket, Special, one each" to up the cost of the vehicle.
:-?
The answer is yes, the majority of the parts on the 3/4 and 1 1/2 tons are the same. In fact, the heavier upgrades in the 62/63 were incorporated into the 3/4 tons, i.e. ring and pinion. So specs for the parts are the same after 43'. If you can, get the Ordnance Supply Catalog for the 3/4 ton...
That build number should be an early to middle 1944 production date, I forgot to check my books today at work. All the info you need for this truck is available, I have the reproduction pubs (Portrayal Press) and the same on the computer from a cd.
So what ever you need to know is out here...
Now that looks like a great start. The frame appears to have been well protected. Enjoy and remember, you've got lots of help in here.
Have you found the VIN# yet? then you can know the production year. [thumbzup]
I would snap it up in a heartbeat, welcome to the 1.5 ton family. If you need any help with info and such, let me know. My first MV is what you see on my avatar. Its a 43' WC-63, and has been a blast learning about and working on.
I saw my first one 3 years ago, and since have owned 3...
Is the right running board the same as on the WC 63? I'm thinking it might be, whats the condition of it. And what else sheet metal wise might you have from the boxes forward?
