My M1028 blew up today Need Ideas! Diesel Help

ouch! coolant out the overflow usually means gasket is gone.sadly,"hard starting" and "rough running" usually indicate a loss of compression, which could be gasket also or cracked head or block. only a tear down will tell the tale...definitely pull the heads.that means both not just the one that...

    M-1010 update...

more pics... as requested, pics of lift block and rear springs.no they are not double wrapped...but,IIRC,the stock springs were double wrapped only on the front, just like a stock K-30. The spring rate appears to be a little firmer than stock...note that the new springs have fewer but thicker...

    M105A1 Trailer??

yuck... I work for a company that has surge brakes on all it's trailers...trust me when i say this...as a rule surge brakes are possibly the worst trailer braking system ever invented.Last year i logged over 30,000 km's pulling these POS trailers.I hated them from the start. Why? two...

Waste solid vegatable oil as biodiesel feedstock?

hydrogenated It's my understanding that oil in these blocks is hydrogenated veg' oil.(The stuff full of trans fats your not supposed to be eating).Apparently makes good feed stock for bio,but requires more work.Apparently you get more waste(glycerin etc).Non hydro' is said to be the best stuff...

    m1010 cucv ?'s

weight mark-2 Turns out i had a day off...with a density of .098 lbs/cubic inch,a measuring tape, and some guess work...i come up with a revised estimate of 270 lbs of aluminum. this assumes a skin thickness of .032 inches.all skins, doors and shelving are aluminum,as well as the supporting...

    m1010 cucv ?'s

weight... I don't think it would...unless,that is,it gives a weight minus the above mentioned accesories. To come close,we need to guestimate the total volume of alum in the box itself. Find out which parts are aluminum, measure each one for length x width x thickness, add them all up,Try to...

    m1010 cucv ?'s

aluminum I believe they are all aluminum...but i'm not entirely sure. assuming i remember,i'll grab a magnet and check tomorrow.I don't have a clue as to the weight off alum in the body work...but it can't be much, probly not much more than 350 lbs or so...it's the accesories that bring the...

About valves for biodiesel and WVO

valves... Neat...is this a valve meant for hydraulics?I can locally source small aluminum bodied solinoid valves normally used for switching hydraulics.(like you'd use with a snowplow etc.) when i get the chance to complete an aux tank to run bio or svo,i'd like to use these valves as they are...

Extra 75 gallon Fuel tank in bed

legality... have you checked what the state says is okay for volume?Up here tanks over a certain size need to be double walled, and no tapping into the factory tanks is allowed...you have to run a separate fuel line and pump. sounds silly, but this all started for us about 10 years ago...

CUCV: What glow plugs to buy? (24volt origial military)

resistor... we should find out what the resistance is per foot or inch in the factory bank...resistance wire is fairly common stuff, maybe we can build our own or rebuild the stock units.

CUCV: Tranny Woes - 1st gear winds up PAST 35mph!!!

vac pump... No,the thm-400 does not have electronic shift controls.I think you (and the rest of us)can be happy it dosn't. what your 6.2 does have is a vacum pump.it looks a-lot like a distributor that someone took the cap off of and installed a disk like affair in its place, complete with vacum...
