clanks...
you didn't mention the speed of the clanking.a fast clank, accompanied by vibration ,on acceleration is likely a u-joint.the rear pinion will rotate upwards slightly on acceleration, making the proplem more evident.it's likely the rear one.
another possibility is a lose or sloppy trans...
70
if it's a 60 front,it's likely to be a d-70 rear.look out for dodge axles with the small bolt pattern on the front...even if it's a sixty it could have the undesireable small wheel bearings.i can't recall exactly what year they appeared, but they are really weak, and won't take abuse.
you can...
post turbo
The only way to know the temp difference across the turbo on that setup is to actually measure it first.it's gonna be way more than a hundred degrees.you'll be surprised at how much the difference really is.you'll never know until you test.
Iv'e been warned over and over and over...
post turbo?
The only thing i can think off that a post turbo pyro could be useful for , is on a computer controlled diesel with EGR.and perhaps those with particulate filters (the self cleaning kind).
without the affore mentioned testing, the post turbo pyro can't be calibrated to account for...
alt mounts...
the brackets from an m-1010 would likely give you everything you need...two alternator mounts, and an a/c mount.
the a/c for the rear of the m-1010 is driven off the engine.the wiring would certainly need some figuring out, as you would have to change your alt location to the...
egt spread...
The only point is to answer the quiestion...what is the actual egt spread pre and post turbo?
You don't have to get a second probe.just keep the mounting post turbo...then load the truck up and take it for a hard run, recording the egt at 100 rpm increments.
then remount the pyro...
egt spread...
i seem to remember reading somewhere that there is a linear relationship between the two...that is at idle it is likely no more than 90 or 100 degrees- f.
At a T.I.T of 500-F it's about 190 to 210-f
At a T.I.T of 1000-F it's about 350 to 400-f
This depends a-lot on the turbo...
alternator...
That is certainly a sweet ride...i'd buy it in a heartbeat if it was up here.
BTW... i suggest it's likely better,in your case,to convert to 12 volt.you have 2 12-v alternators already...you'd end up with a spare and a spot for the a/c pump.
Cost wise it's likely better to stick...
thanks..
thanks...i take it then that this port is on the "return" side of the cooling system.this is good ,as there is plenty of discussion on various sites as to cooling mods for 6.2 and 6.5 diesels.just thinking... :)
mangus...having real trouble accesing the site consistently...i get to the main page but on occasion,i'll get a blank screen.only multiple use of the refresh button gets it back...and can't upload any images either.is something wrong on your end or mine?
i can acces other sites with ease...are...
it was quik...
ya...an hour and a half...thats how long it took, including a parts run to the local heavy truck shop just down the block.keeping the truck in an industrial park is an advantage sometimes.
i was worried initially that i might break off a starter bolt,as the 6.2's are notorious for...
bulbs...
sort of the same for bulbs...if wired in series each bulb cuts down on voltage as you go.2 bulbs on a 12 volt cicut would see 6 volts each.both bulbs would draw the same amps as one bulb, and each would be 1/2 as bright .
if you want the bulbs to stay bright, wire them in parralell.each...
interesting...
Funny this happens to you too...my starter stuck on just a while ago.had to kill mine the same way.turns out it was just the contactor assembly on the back of the solinoid.40 bucks for a replacement solinoid and about a hour and a half of my time and i was good to go.
i should...
i guess...
i guess it depends on your point of view.the reason the 203 failed so often was the fact it was full time...which was the reason so many liked it.
chain stretch was the 203's achilies heel.that and poor maintainance.quite a few mechanics(using the term loosely)often failed to realize...
only one good part...
The 203 is widely considered junk.but it has one redeeming feature.it easily un-bolts into two parts...the front have is the useful side.throw the chain case away.
the range box(the front) is really just a 2 speed aux transmission.
high and low range.thats it.combined with...
no room...
with your last set of photos i see why your going the electric route.
you don't have room for much up front,do you?
I suppose there's a reason your not using a pusher fan?
