Can anyone help me identify these?

What is the source of those designations? The only place I have seen numbers/descriptions close to what you have listed are on a "master llist" of M numbers posted here some time ago and also on Wikipedia. Not all of the descriptions on that list were complete and/or accurate. I will check...

    Contact Maintenance Deuce?

As for the accessability question, as long as you're making stuff, make an accessible fold-out platform on each side about the height of the front fenders. Get out of the truck, stand on the running board, flip the platform down, get to any compartment you need to. After all, the maintenance...

    Is this a V-100

It's at least in the family. Could also be one of the later generations: V150, V200--depending on engine/length/a couple other not readily visible differences.

    A compilation video

Interesting choice in music. And excellent camera work. I would have liked to hear him grunting as you worked him down the hill in the last shot, tho.

Bad Photochop of a far future plan.

Apologies, Frodo, for the short hijack: Just for clarification, I do know the difference between a picture of a M-37 and a PW. PW 1st, then M37 I think that rescue body on the deuce chassis or maybe even a 5t would be a useful truck.

I've got this M37 version in my file, don't remember where it came from.

    Bobbed 818 4sale-not mine

A guy at work told me about a truck that was painted like a "TONKA" truck he saw at a dealer just south of Traverse City. Went looking to take pics, but didn't find that one. I did find this one, though. Looks like a pretty decent job on the bob, don't know about the engine or tranny. I've...

    Malta Half-track ID..

Here's a shot of the fender on a White ("Princess") taken at Findlay in 2006. Notice the big difference in the fender shape!:-D

    Identify

If I'm looking at the box on that WC right, it looks like it would be the M6/WC55 truck that carried the 37 mm gun in the back. Just looking at the strip sticking up above the wheel well.

    Malta Half-track ID..

Easiest characteristics of the M2/M3 White series vs M5/M9 IH series to spot are missing on this vehicle. The front fenders and the rear corners of the body. On the White series, the front fenders are formed with a curve from the outside to the hood, almost like a flare and the rear corners...

    Looking for a CMU3 or CMU5

For those who might have seen one and not known what it is, here are a couple sample pics. I think I got these from e-bay some time back

    M35 Mine Protected Vehicle

Looks to me like the ONLY thing that is M35 based is the chassis and front clip. I'd almost bet the underside of the cab is vee'd out, more or less set down into the frame. The driver's position is probably about a foot to two feet back from normal. Be interesting to see a side by side with a...

    Help with armor identification

Jane's listing does not show the LAV under USA armored personnel carriers, but as additional information under the GM of Canada AVGP. In passing, the note says US ARMY designation was "M1047". USMC doesn't always assign M numbers.

    Help with armor identification

According to Jane's Armour and Artillery, 94-95, The Swiss considered them all (4x4, 6x6, and 8x8) to be models of the Pirahna. Canada called their 6x6 models the Grizzly (mg turret) and Courgar (Scorpion Turret). /the Canadian Bison (8x8) and LAV-25 (USMC) are basically the same vehicle.

    Help with armor identification

Same family as the original USMC LAV, built in Canada by license from the Swiss manufacturer. This is the 6 wheel, while the LAV is 8. The Canadians call theirs the Grizzly, IIRC.

Who has the oldest military Vehicle on SS

nopics And while the 4 legged critter may be the oldest TYPE of military transport, I doubt it's really over 50 years old. In the perceived spirit of the original post, I think it should include only vehicles that are operational. Several people can claim old vehicles if you count the...

Question for the armored vehicle guru's

Maybe a bridge truck with a lwb cargo bed? Yeah, to the normal "civilian" I can see a resemblence between that and the "armored vehicle" from "The Dirty Dozen." They've gotta be talking about the 18t FAMO at the end of the movie and if you squint REAL HARD and imagine Lee Marvin and Charles...

    CUCV Designation

The designation for the body of the truck is "Shop Equipment, Contact Maintenance, Truck Mounted" or SECMTM. The contents varied by the type of unit it was assigned to. Those are listed in Supply Catalogs (SC) depending on whether it is for a maintenance unit or any variation of an engineer...

    New from Michigan

So, the next trail ride we're going to have a CUCV special trip? Sounds like we could have a couple "hundred truck" convoys in the state of MI, one of deuces and the other of CUCV blazers!:-D

need advice, im a new collector

The command car might also be the 1/2 ton WC series. Easiest way to tell is to check the fenders. If they are basically flat, it's a WC. If they're large, full fenders like on a 1930's pickup truck, it's probably a VC. Congrats on the MUTT. They're fun to drive.
