Spicer, I would not worry about the trans.
Mack triple-counter-shaft transmission is near indestructible.
Same setup was used on my 35 ton end dump,(quarry dump ,like a Euclid) dozens of different drivers over 30 years couldn't kill it.
Shouldn't make a difference.
Washing machine motor is fractional horsepower.
Alternator won't be able to make enough internal heat with such a small driver to care if the fan is going 'wrong way'.
Pulley is a pressed fit to shaft, not much chance of pulley nut screwing itself loose.
Does not set like cement.
Washes with water and some elbow grease.
One pound of lime will suck up around a half gallon of water, swells up quite a bit, will generate some heat also.
Interesting chemistry here.
I came upon this thread late, I would suggest the use of a few bags of burnt lime to stiffen the mud.
Stuff works like magic.
Old farmer showed this to me years ago, it really works well.
"Why do so many people have to go so fast, especally when pulling a trailer?"
Traveling at 50 mph, when the average speed of the traffic is 25 mph faster , you become a 'rolling roadblock'.
Slow travel on a limited access highway is dangerous.
A few times my drivers have been ticketed for...
Nice fab job,skilled craftsman.
In my experience, front frame of 5 ton insufficient for plow that size.
Typically a commercial rig using a plow this size has a double frame.
I have full under-reach frame on one of mine, goes under front axel, with bridge work extending to rear spring...
Of the 14 over-the-road trucks I run , none have alcohol evaps.
Fleet annual aggregate mileage is in the vicinity of 600,000.
My drivers grease and oil, check all fluids and such, it is essentially 'their' truck, draining air tanks is part of the process.
No problems here, summer or winter.
I've been mixing waste motor oil with #2 fuel for use in a conventional burner for quite some time.
It works well if you are strict about what goes in your tank.
Beware of any source of 'free' or cheap oil, as it often contains water, antifreeze, and other crap.
Dual line system seems to work...
This happens when mechanical ability isn't tempered with practicality.
Just because you CAN do it doesn't mean it need to be done.
(HEY MOM !, Look what I can do!...whoops...splat.)
I would worry if the oil didn't turn black.
That would mean that the soot is collecting inside the engine.
Modern detergent motor oils are designed to hold the soot/dirt/anything else in suspension, that way the soot/dirt/& ect. leaves with the oil when you drain it.
Design feature, worry if...
I have one that is very similar.
Major difference is engine is two cylinder, rather than four.
I have a tool box, a jump pack and a torch set on mine.
Makes a handy yard vehicle.
Sorry, no documents or manuals.
They will self-excite.
The rotor in the alternator will retain a small amount of residual magnetism, sometimes it is enough to excite.
Problem is the high rpm needed to get this phenomenon to manifest itself.
Anyone with a Delco system can test this themselves, just remove the voltage on the...
