The part number is 12339961-2 . If your tailgate uses them, there will be 2 little holes in it that the rubber nipples seat in. Hummerpartsguy.com had them for $1.02 each. The M998 parts listing lists a different type of pad. Maybe my tailgate was swapped out at some point, who knows.
Good read. So, what were you final caster and camber angles when you were done? My M998 rolls down the road nice and strait, just trying to get the numbers right.
Hi Guys,
I was doing some calculations to correct my front end alignment on my 90 M998. The amount of shims concern me. Can you have that many?
The TM says 1.5 caster and +0.68 camber so mine seems to be way off. The civilian 92 uses less camber so I am going with that.
HI Guys,
I think I am going to pull my injection pump and have it rebuilt. 1990 M998 with a 6.2. Couple questions;
1. I remember reading somewhere that you can have them rebuilt to non detuned specs for better engine performance but I can't find the info now. Can anybody remember where that...
Has anybody installed the big lift springs from American Humvee? Also, has anybody used the leveling springs? Are they the same ones that Midwest sells?
I had mine done at the local Tires Plus. I found it's best to just drive by and talk to them with the HMMWV in the parking lot. Most tire shops I talked to will not do the shims. My regular mechanic would but it would have been by the hour.
I did a front outer boot on my axle and haven't had any issues with it. I did it as soon as it tore though. For me it wasn't about the money, it was about keeping the lower weight rated axles. Seems they are difficult to get. Anyway, have a blast and remember, these these things do not go...
Not a pro or anything, but sounds like the solenoid needs to be replaced. Not sure if they are changeable on not on these things. Looks like a pretty standard starter though.
