I put an NP203/205 doubler on mine and went to a 1350 CV and a 1410 at the axle. I would be willing to bet you take those shims out tilt the diff back up again so the axle u-joint is straight and the turn is at the CV and it will be good. So I have a slip shaft and not a slip yoke.
It is doing well after 4 years but I do have a Dash Designs dash cover on it. It's an Arizona thing because it is so hot here.

I did carpet and a pad, a headliner and finally a hood insulation pad. The hood pad did the most. This is an M1008 cab. it is still loud, but not super loud anymore.
My truck never death wobbled ever. I re-built the front axle completely including replacing the king pins. Then my Goodyear MT/R's (37x12.5x17) were wearing more in the front than rear, so I took it in for an alignment. The kid working there screwed a perfectly good truck up so bad it had...
No death wobble is violent and the front tires shake back and forth going the road. Sounds like you have worn out ball joints and tre's as an M1009 will have a 10 bolt. Not a king pin Dana 60
I actually installed an NP 203/205 dual case setup so I had to get a longer shaft. I'm running 1410 on the front Dana 60 and 1350 Double Cardin CV at the NP205. ORD said the stock M1008 drive shaft is just 1/2 ton parts. With the 6.2 it's probably fine, but I went higher.
I have a 4" ORD and 37" MT/R's. My only comment is that the thing is hard to get into. You have to do a little jump. So 6" would be kind of a pain to get in and out of on 37's on a daily basis.
The OD Iron kit was from Arizona Mobil Air. If you call them they can still build the kit. I have it in my M1008 and it holds up to the AZ Summers pretty good, but a pickup cab is a lot smaller.

You have to call them for the Military truck kits. Each one of these...
I have spent a fortune on my M1008 doing all the maintenance as well, I even did the IP pump. I can't ever sell it, same reason. I have AC too and an entire new interior.
