M1009. Got in today and smelled radiator fluid. You guessed it, heater core shot. Can't replace it until tomorrow night, is it safe to drive 140 miles just don't use the heat?
My M1009 has been running great. I have noticed once in a while I will find about 1/8 of a cup of diesel under the passenger side from the engine. I have looked every where and can't find a leak. Anyone else have this happen?
Yes, this one is it. Also put some pics in the "post pics of your CUCV" thread. I have been cleaning it up a lot. Have to say, I love my M1009. Is yours still here in UT? If so, when are you picking it up?
I just ordered a basket. Need a rack or posts for it. It is 45X50X5. I plan on putting the spare tire, two gas cans on their back, two water cans on their back in it. My hi-lift on one side and my ax and shovel on the other. Don't think I will need more than 1 or 2 inches of clearence.
I am trying to find two of the round rubber gaskets that are where the radio antenna wire feeds through from the outside to the inside. I can't locate these parts in the manuals. Anyone know the proper name of these and where to get them? Thanks
Mine flickers too once it is running, I watch my volt meter and it is not drawing any volts. I notice mine depending on my rpms will turn off and on. New card too.
I bought some krylon fusion at walmart, will let you know the color tomorrow. I used it to paint a console I put in my 1009 and I is almost a perfect match to my door panals.
I hated the PK's. Always had this vision of dying in one. They were not very fun to use. Hate to say, I have seen a 7.62 burn through one. They did handle very, very poorly. Never saw one with AC and I know our heaters barley worked in the winter.
Went to pep boys. They had floor insulation with the foil on one side, took two rolls to complete, went to Home Depot and bought industrial grade carpet. Put the insulation in first then worked the carpet from front to rear. Fitted like custom carpet and was cheap.
I put sound deadening padding down and some industrial carpet throughout the floor. Then changed my oil. It is too warm when the heater is on and I can talk to the person next to me.
