A wider locking ring won't work. The bead has to ride on the wheel center. You would end up with a version of the old "man killer" 2 piece wheel.

Singles steer easier. Less scrubbing from the rear. However, do what you think is best. Your truck, after all.

Fill 'em with cement. No tube, flap, air, punctures, etc. Ride quality MIGHT suffer a bit.

That is a vent line. You must disconnect it and pull the master cylinder plug.

A deuce is like any hobby vehicle, there is always something that needs doing. I have to get of my butt and replace the front axle boots, then a rear wheel cylinder. Mine went through depot overhaul in 89, so it is time for a few little things to go wrong.

I live about 45 miles from Atlanta, and I can go with you as well. My opinion? Too much money. You can find nice deuces for less than $4500 bucks in the Ga. area.

Throw on a turbo. You can find the whole setup without too much trouble.

Nothing wrong with saving good parts and re-using them. I have built one motor out of 2 or 3. Crank and brgs from one, block pistons and rods from another , heads from another. As long as you follow good mechanical practice, you will be OK.

No, I bought this from an individual who has had it for some years. It looks great, even has the spare pins mounted on the bars. I'll post a pic tonight. I just can't use it, so it needs to go.
