I got a fuel tank from a junked CUCV m1008 today with intentions of adding it to the passenger side of my CUCV. Is it possible to turn the sending unit toward the inside of the truck and it still work properly? If I leave it as is, it looks like routing the fuel lines will be difficult. How...
It's crazy, but true: 5-10 minutes. My problems started when I replaced the radiator. I gues the old one was so clogged that the engine reached operational temperature around the same time that the fast idle solenoid released. With the old radiator the plugs would cycle on and off and then...
Last night I completed my manual glow plug modification. I removed the light blue and dark blue wires from the glow plug card holder and connected them to a 60 Amperes, push-button switch from Tractor Supply.
Before this modification my glow plug card would activate the plugs for 5-10...
thanks guys. westech the diagram looks like the lowest fitting next to the oil filter routes the oil cooler line to the upper aluminum pipe that comes away from the radiator. But like you said, it seems like that hookp wold be backwards.
I was wondering if someone could help me figure out which engine oil cooler line hooks to which engine oil cooler pipe. I've looked at the -20TM, but it's not totally clear. It appears that the lowest connection next to theoil filter would cause the rubber line to route across the left fender...
I've an m1008 with AC60G plugs. I noticed some time ago that the GP card would cycle the plugs more than usual and that on one of the cycles it would activate the plugs for a long time. It has gotten to the point where at least once during the warm-up period it will activate the plugs for...
I have an '85 m1008 and its cooling system is making me scratch my head. Here are the symptoms:
Used to run between 182 and 195 then began running around 205 so I replaced the radiator. Then it ran around 110 to 130 from late Summer throgh now until I found a leaky freeze plug (never could...
If I wanted to add a low oil indicator to my 1008's oil pan, would the same sensor as is used in the radiator's low coolant setup work? Does anyone have suggestions for this mod?
Those are engine oil cooler lines. The rubber lines that come from the engine block and lead to the radiator are available at O'Reilly's for sure, and probabaly other parts houses. There is a thread in here somewhere that talks about those being recalled items that were subject to burst. If...
Does anyone know who sells the engine oil cooler pipes? These are the aluminum pipes that travel behind the radiator. I've been on-line and to several parts houses and can't find any references. Thanks.
I had the same problem, and the fix was to clean the connection under the dash. If memory serves, there are a couple of black boxes under the dash, one of which is close to the steering column. On my truck it is not connected and occasionally falls down around the brake pedal. Anyhow, one of...
Well, I got the bed off of the beast tonight-and didn't use any cuss words. But, it was still a pain in the neck. Each bolt had its own issues, but the majority came out after I drilled off the bolt head and drove them through the bed with a cold chisel. Two bolts could not be driven through...
Thanks xenocath. Could you also photo the switch that activates the different tanks and its location in the cab? It would give me an idea of what I need to do. Thanks alot.
