Thanks, guys! It is tough to find the details on these trailers. They are very common, but information is sparse and parts are far more difficult to find than for the trucks.
I've got all my data plates, but no military registration numbers (the serial number is on the data plate) and finding...
Does anyone know how the military registration numbers were derived for the M101 (M101A1, M101A2 & M101A3) Series of trailers? There is lots of information on the process of assigning registration numbers to motorized vehicles, but I am unable to find anything regarding formulating or assigning...
Just a historical point of fact here.
Cannons, which were the artillery of the 18th and early to mid 19th century were commonly owned by private citizens, groups, and many, many shipowners. Ammunition for these items was commonly available in normal commerce.
All military items of the period...
Thanks! That is very helpful to know. I've been doing a lot of stenciling lately (warm summer weather) and the under spray can cause a lot of "do-overs" which are aggravating.
I'll try rolling next time (probably this weekend).
Welcome to the site from Washington!
in answer to your question, there are quite a few things you should look at and evaluate.
You need to know what you plan to do with the truck. Are you going to keep it stock? Do you plan on "hot-rodding" it (modern truck on old frame with old body)?
The...
Well, dmetalmiki, as an ordinary RETIRED chap, I would say that you look like a prime candidate to take over the whole War & Peace thing with one or more of your friends. It'll get you out of the house, and since you're in London, you are already in the very center of connections and...
Check the Distributor Vent Lines and the fittings in the carburetor / air cleaner U pipe. Also check the wires in the distributor and make sure the Points & Plate are screwed down tight.
Check over on the G741 website for answers. There is a LOT of information on M37 Distributors over there.
I will second the recommendation for the Super Lugs. I have a set on my truck and trailer and while they make it a little harder to steer at slow speeds or a dead stop, they are much better for traction on wet streets (or ice) and last a lot longer for paved road driving.
Because these trucks are so simple (compared to current vehicles) I find working on them is almost as much fun as driving them. They are almost like a Lego Trucks (or Tonka Trucks for the old guys) you can drive.
However, I've had my truck for 35 years (and it is my second M-37), so I have...
Welcome from Washington state!
Be sure to check out the G741 forum. It is exclusively for M37's and all variants. Lots of knowledge, suppliers, and help with vehicles.
Very nice truck! Please update us with pictures of your progress.
Also, you might want to stop over at the G741 site to register your truck and talk to the people there. They are focused exclusively on the M37 and variants and have a wealth of knowledge.
Good Luck with your project!
