All the parts are fabricated now, so I just have to find the time to finish them up. It will probably take one weekend which I don't have right now (family commitments and the the summer show schedule). I would like to at least have the lights painted and installed by the 4th of July (not...
Looks like a very straight truck to begin with. Tailgate is very nice and the front bumper is straight (quite uncommon). Hopefully the rest of your truck is in similar condition.
Good Luck with your project! I've had my '52 for 35 years (only pick up I've owned. They are great trucks, just be...
Nice find! The fact that it is still running is rare indeed. It seems fewer and fewer people sell these trucks until they quit running.
The winch and hardtop are a nice plus.
Good Luck with your project, and please post pictures of your progress.
Being able to get the radios repaired and maintained is a big consideration. I got all my stuff back in the early 1980's at scrap prices. I ended up with complete systems and various mounting configurations, but finding people who know how to play with tube sets is very hard, as almost all of...
The GRC's I'm talking about are the old A/N GRC-3, -5, & -7 series of Old Family radios (Korea to Early Vietnam). They used 24 VDC vibrators and other various tubes. They were built in the early 1950's.
I just have a little truck (M37) with an open spelter socket on the end of the winch cable. It was installed with molten zinc instead of a wedge.
Is this method safe for a truck winch? I know they use this method with tug boats (I live in a port city).
Here are the pictures of the table legs. The latching mechanism is on the side of the table leg (like the old card table legs - 1950's stuff). The wing nuts to adjust the leg height and the curved clamp behind are shown in some of the photos.
Let me know if you need anything else.

I think I already did, Bert. It was a little while ago, but I'll post them all again if you like (there are more of them, including the leg assemblies).
Should I post them in General or Builders Blog?
Storm 51
I'll post some pictures of the leg assemblies tonight when I get home. That is where you will see the wing nuts for the leg height adjustment and the locking mechanism for the legs.
M-42 Map Table
Here are the pictures I have on my computer. If these are not sufficient to accomplish your fabrication, let me know and describe what you want to see and I'll take some more photos this weekend.
I think these are what you are looking for.
Let me know.

I'll look for the pictures of the map table I have at home. If I can't find the photos on my computer at home, I can take some more.
Are you looking for the bracket that holds the table to the side boards in the bed? Those brackets also hold the leg foot in the collapsed position. Let me know...
I've got the map table you are looking for. The measurements are 36 inches long (when mounted in the truck, this measurement is from the front edge of the table to the rear edge of the table) and 27 inches wide (this is the measurement from left to right as mounted in the truck).
The table top...
