Here is what i found in the steering column. this puter gear thats attached to the start rod. i had one in the parts truck but i broke it trying to remove it. are these available new? anybody know? thanks. mark
Hello, i would check two things. first, pull the return fitting on the top of the ip, make sure its clear, and that there is no trash in the fitting. blow compressed air through it. second, pull the fuel line in front of the lift pump and blow back to the tank. we will go from there. good luck...
This truck still has a floormat and an excellent replacement dash pad. also had no chain in the floor for the steering lock. thanks . mark
Looks like my water leak is an expansion plug, ill get to it when it warms up. were going into the freezer again down here till thursday.
I picked this up last week from the texas forest service in lufkin. loaded the truck with the wheels locked. The lock cylinder was broke, ignition rod was not attached. I replaced the lock cylinder and used a vice grip to grab the ignition rod . I installed a couple of batterties, pushed the rod...
GM had 2 tsb's that covered that filter base, the first was the pressure sensor and the second was the o-ring in the drain plug. ive never had a problem with the latter, for me its always been the pressure sensor. thanks. mark
I have 4 trucks right now, 3 of them had the original military lock , you may luck out, but if you need to pull the lock you need a steering wheel puller, lock plate depressor, all available at the auto parts store or harbor freight. the pin that hold the lock cylinder in is either torx or...
i used a fine threaded bolt, dont remember what size. but common. never had a problem with them leaking. ive done lots . make sure you cut it to the right length, or cut the head off the bolt, or use a pipe plug. this is a low pressure system, 5 lbs or so is all the mechanical pump will do...
Wich one did you get? i went and picked up mine yesterday(1-23) in the rain and cold. i hauled mine . i took a military key but they had changed the lock. make sure you bring tools to unlock the steering if you plan on towing, and of course a spare or two! thanks. mark
I posted dimensions of...
i would remove that sensor, pull it out and plug the hole behind it or replace the filter base with the napa spin on. lots of posts about that too. i tap the hole and plug it. not a hard job. if you dont it will drive you crazy!!!
Like i said before, was this truck running before all this? i would remove the inlet on the lift pump and blow back to the tank with compressed air. fuel in tank? pumps do quit but not overnight. they are only 25 bucks at the parts store if you need to replace it. plug the hole where the fuel...
This works with your civilian vehicles also. the 10th digit trumps yr of manufacture.

If your truck was running before this, fuel probably ran back to the tank. there is a check valve in the lift pump to prevent this but it may not work. if you installed a new fuel filter and filled it mostly with fuel , close the bottom drain. close the top bleed screw, crank the engine for 5...
other than the speedometer being changed its looks good for the first blazer built. that to me would have been a keeper!!! now, where is the last one?? thanks. mark
Notice the type is different from the factory built trucks. maybe a prototype? whats the last 6? thanks. mark. does it say 000001? that is a rare bird, maybe worth keeping!!
As would i, all cucv 's were vin code "E" built in 83, likewise only trucks were built in the 87 model yr from sept-86 to oct-86. no blazers were built in the 87 model yr. i had one built in aug-86 with a serial of over 200000. not many of those. i wish i had that one back, it had 6000 miles...
I have plenty of 285/75/r16 as well , i run them on my 02 crew cab. in that truck they give me 10% over the stock 245/75/r16 the truck came with. when i put the 285/75 next to the 255/85 they are very close to the same height. the only draw back to the 255 tire is the D rating wich i dont like...
With the factory 235/85r/16 rubber and 4.56 gear i always kept my speed at 50mph max, i dont know what rpm that would be but the engine screams! im guessing 3k rpm. i installed 255/85r/16 on one of my trucks for a 10% gain over the stock tire. this gets me 55 at the same engine speed. i use...
