it was mounted to that raised strip just to the right of the t-case shifter , i dont remember where the power came in from. the t-case shift lever light power wire is there but is on the light switch. the dome light is right above and gives way more light.
As i recall this truck came straight from the military, and was a regular m1008. i was thinking that it might have been to test the life in the batteries. dont know. i just took it apart, it has a clear lense in the base like a tail light, license plate combo, but the switch throws me. thanks. mark
So in ca do you get a title back with just a bill of sale? can you register it for road use? i like the left rear wheel in the picture from an 88 up 16" gm 4x4 . hope you have one on the other side to match because of the locking diff in the rear.
I was digging around the shop looking for blackout switches, fuel caps and other stuff when i discovered this red light with an on-off switch that was mounted on the hump next to the t-case of a previous truck. what was its purpose? thanks. mark.
For this application 14.6 is the high number with no load. i think the range might be 14.2-14.8. 13.8 would not keep the battery charged. others vehicles are different. thanks. mark
After measuring 3 of my cucv's ive found that none are the same. outside to outside of clevis is 31.75" to 31.3125." inside width of clevis mount is 1.125" to 1.0625" diameter of pin is about 1" . inside to inside of clevis is 28.1875 to 28.5" my towbar is adjustable, and now you know why...
cap could be bad, do you hear any noise when you release the cap? like vacume? cap needs to be vented. i have seen the fuel tank draw up in a knot when the cap was bad. also the return line off the pump needs to flow freely back to the tank. thanks. mark
I would not install the used part with the pressure sensor installed. you will be back where you started. lots of posts about how to fix the base if you chose to keep it. you can fix your old one to. there are 3 plugs from your old unit. if you remove the pressure sensor(round looking with 2...
like i said i cant remember what my 87 had, but i just watched a youtube video of a filter change and the base on his civilian truck clearly had a pressure sensor switch. here it is, thanks

my 87 v1500 had the same fuel leak down problem as the military ones did. i replaced the assembly with one already repaired some time ago. i looked through my pile of old units but found none any different. i dont have the truck anymore or i would check it. i have read that the newer bases did...
i have done it without removing the ip. not a bad job. i had a core pump with good throttle shaft bushings. i did it about a year ago and i may have posted about it, i will look. thanks. mark
i did it on my v1500 civi truck with a jillion miles on it. you will need intake manifold gaskets...
