    Newbie Question

..... or you have no teeth left on the flex plate. common problem but not easy to fix. good luck. ive seen them so bad that you had to grab a belt and try and roll the motor over to a better spot, not easy with a diesel!!!!

    Rant plus starting issue

i think they are easy to tow. 3 ways that i know. 1, put trans in nuetral, tow 50 miles or less with rear wheels on the ground. (gm approved). 2, pull rear shaft, tie to underside so no fluid is lost. pull as far as needed. 3, put transfer case in nuetral, trans in park, front hubs unlocked...

    m1028 shifting fast with 37oz

here is one way to do it. pull plug with 2 vacume hoses running to the tps. be careful, its plastic. tps is the black thing attached to the injection pump on the passenger side. leave it off and go for a short drive. transmission should not shift until rpm gets close to redline. it will make a...

    New Guy With a question

still more expensive than just replacing the rear 10 bolt if your on a budget! ive seen 32-11.50's on many a blazer that never had an issue with the rear.

    New Guy With a question

impossible to find a 6 lug 14 bolt, gm only put them in light duty 3/4 ton with 7200gvw.(i have one with 3.73 gears) easier to find 8 lug matching axles. front will likely be a 10 bolt anyway. cheapest way to go is to replace the 3.08 geared 10 bolt in the rear. unless you run big tires it will...

M1009 recovery and first start up after possible 10 years sitting.

drive it some more before condeming the injectors. it may stop after you get fresh fuel run through it. the same thing happens to me when i pick up a truck that has sat for years. put 20 miles on it or more , make sure the crankcase has not been diluted with fuel. ill bet it clears up! thanks. mark

    Transmission fluid cooler overheating

the logic was that in cold weather it would warm up to radiator temp and remain constant. gm finally figured out in 94-95 that if you were going to tow you needed a way to air cool the trans temp and increase capacity by adding a cooler in front of the a/c condensor. btw i measure my trans temp...

    Transmission fluid cooler overheating

where are you measuring the trans temp? water temp is supposed to run at 195, with a good thermostat. getting rid of the factory fan clutch will make the bad fuel milage even worse, not counting the constant roaring noise. i think you might have another problem. trans temp should be the same...

    M1009: Electrical issues (12v conversion)

if you are seeing smoke while cranking your almost there! if you could just put a jumper on the glow plug relay for a couple of seconds ill bet it will fire up!. i also noticed your primer bulb on your filter assembly, crack the line on the ip side and make sure you can see fuel flowing there...

In need of a CUCV non-gear reduction starter.

if that cable gets hot and burns up you lost the the big ground at the back of the intake manifold by the fuel filter. tighten it up, you may not need a starter. thanks. mark

i hope i am wrong , tough situation but it has happened to me. i bought a clean 1009 that had low miles from GL. i was loosing water big time and some was ending up in the crankcase. i pulled both heads, had them checked, put it back together , same problem. i was about to drive it off the...

    New to me 1985 m1008

your horn relay is missing. its the three legged one. the reason its gone might be that the diode under the tape is shorted and caused the horn to blow all the time . i may have a spare but you should be able to find one closer. i just had this problem last week. thanks. mark
