Shankem ~ You definitely have neat work . . . is there anyway you could take a couple photos of how your rock sliders go around your gas tank on the drivers side? I'm wondering if I should put a brace on both sides of the gas tank like you or connections under the tank going to the rock...
great write up on the process of the truck . . . just sat down and read the whole thing.
Man I have some projects to get done, keep up the good work[thumbzup]
Shankem, nice brace you built. I like how you did your rock sliders on your truck! How did you manage to get around the gas tank on the drivers side? Do you have any pictures you can post up of them?
I have the same wheels, it really makes the truck look mean:beer:
Sorry matt I don't recall saying I can't jack my truck up without assistance, I DON'T HAVE THE TOOLS! I'm the one who put my lift on. I would remove my rear diff cover and look but I have new fluid in there right now and I unfortunately have a lot going on between work, my life and my...
Unfortunately I don't have the tools to jack my truck up at the moment . . . So any advice that involves that I havent been able to do. I am in an unfortunate situation with not so many tools available right now, maybe in the next couple weeks I can jack the truck up.
Odave have you ever put...
it verifies that your rear end is locked up. I'm also not saying to haul ass in reverse and slam it into gear . . . Yes I feel a mechanic knows more than a fire fighter about fixing vehicles. I have no problem with difference of opinion but its just like my mechanic telling me that your dumb and...
This is what the majority of drag racers do after they burnout and are pulling up to the starting line...he had the truck for about two weeks and after driving it and working on it a couple of different times during that period he noticed the rear end issue.
Sorry if I haven't been explaining...
Unfortunately I don't have the time at the moment and I feel he is not dicking me around. I was a little concerned when he told me my locker wasn't engaging but this is something that has happened to other people I know as well. If he sucks he would have told me is was broke and try to get me...
No offense taken, but I think he's on to something b/c I don't really hear my wheels chirp anymore turning corners(could just be the larger tire size). He's not trying to sell me anything, he did mention that it could last a while or crap out on my next week. I'm going wheeling next weekend so...
I wasn't able to look inside the rear end b/c of work, but I do know my locker or posi trac system isn't broke neccessarily. My mechanic said that sometimes rear end would lock into place and other times is wouldn't. My dad had a very similar problem with his corvette and told me to drive...
Well first off thanks for all the helpfull responses! When I first bought the truck I know for sure the rear had some sort of locker in the rear b/c when I would go around turns I would get a little chirp from the rear tires. I'm waiting to hear from my mechanic sometime soon and I will take a...
Hey jd...74, I just moved from Wilmington to Greenville. I've only seen a few M1008's and '09's running around town.
If I were to put a CB in my M1008 I would probably go with dueceaid and put it over the rear view mirror.
Supposedly my mechanic told me that its not a Detroit locker but a posi-trac system...I'm going to be checking it out personally next week. Do the Detroit lockers have their logo on them? How can I tell the difference? I guess it's possible someone could have taken the Detroit locker out before...
Dave your '09 is reallly looking great! Keep up the good work,
Got any updated videos out wheeling? I'm hoping to post some up after I go to Uwharrie the end of this month!
I have looked on the Wiki and in the TM and they seem to be different...the Wiki calls for 75/90 & the TM says 80/90
* What has eveyone used, thanks for the help . . . looking to swap in new fluid and want to make sure I'm using the right weight
just read your entire thread and you definitely have worked your tail off getting your truck on the road in such little time . . . hope your travels are safe. I'm looking forward to seeing the new ride
