Glad to hear an 08 that is being put to use . . . I've made many a trips in mine and it's done awesome. That no A/C is a killer, good luck on your trip and I hope your travels are safe:beer:
I cant seem to find where I purchased my spacers from, but I was recommended by someone on this site. They are 2" spacers and seem to fit perfectyl. The 36" military tires don't stick out to far and leave plenty of room if I decide to go with a tire wider than the 12.50's that are on there
nice ride man, i bet that thing does pretty well off road. Congrats on switching out the axles, I bet it took a lot of patience to get that thing driving right.
Mud ~ Its definitely hard to spit a block when its welded to the axle, but the majority of all blocks that are put on lifted trucks are not welded on the axle or fastened to anything. They are just placed between the springs and the axle and held down by the ubolts.
Definitely not arguing...
Dave, Keep in mind these "blocks" that come from the factory(that I've seen) aren't really blocks. They are welded to the axle, which don't make them blocks anymore. Or they are what offroad design offers, a zero rate, which fastens to the springs so they can't be "spit" out.
Either way of a...
With the full spring lift only being 1/2 ton, don't put anything 1/2 on your CUCV. Go with the new springs up front(if they are minimum 3/4 ton) and just buy a shackle flip kit or just buy new springs for the rear. What ever you do, don't put blocks in the rear!!! What's an extra $100-$200...
Here are the zero rates . . . Add a Leafs, Zero Rate for 4x4 Suspensions from Offroad Design
Definitely something that would help out, I'm looking at getting these put on with my 4" lift
I wish I had a locker up front. On my second post I managed to crawl right up the ledge so I was pleased with that. This is nothing compared to Alaska I imagine, hoping one day to visit up there
I just put on a 4" lift and I am running the 12 bolt hummer wheels and 36" tires(next will be 37's) . . . I have the 2" spacers and if I had to do it again I probably would go with the 1.5".
Here's what 2" spacers look like, and in the second picture, I've changed my rear ubolts. That was a...
Yes, you can stuff 35" tires in the fender wells of an M1008 and I'm sure its the same for the M1009's. I'm stuffing worn down 36" tires in my M1008 while under extreme flex

Here is me actually accomplishing the ledge . . . it started raining right after I made it up this ledge. And if anyone knows anything about red clay then you know how slippery it is...I ended up sliding into a tree up the trail. No big deal b/c it was on the same fender that is...
Uwharrie Trip 2011
Well I finally took the M1008 out on a 7 hour round trip off road experience...what a blast!! I had to take it easy considering it was only my second time actually pushing the limits on the truck. I think we all under estimate these trucks
Watch the cooler at the...
50 psi??? I have 12 bolt H1 wheels & tires and the max psi is 30, says so right on the tire. Just thought 50 was a little high for the H1 tires.
Truck looks good man, I just did the rough country 4" lift and love it! It never stops though, you always want to make something better.
