So I decided to use the 12 bolt hummer wheels I picked up along with a set of 36x12.50 tires used from Birgtires in Fayetville. Man do they pull in every direction!!! I also am using 2" spacers behind these wheels b/c they definitely wouldn't fit by themselves. Im still waiting on my swaybar...
Well I finally managed to get my lift on!!! My dad and I put the front on Tuesday afternoon and a buddy and me put the rear on last night
I was going to re-use my rear ubolts but wasn't able to due to rust so I had to use advance auto parts ubolts for the meantime. They are grade 8...
Was it the bolts like what Boiler was refering to? If its the bolts, could I get better quality bolts to put in?
I'm defintely looking into a high steer down the road, I'm just looking at making what I have work for the time being...Thanks
Well as for your starting, I would crank it the first time for 2-3 max then shut it off. After another 3-4 seconds turn it back on to crank again. Just a saftey measure so you don't burn out your starter, although I'm sure it would take a lot more than 5-10 seconds repeatedly to burn it up...
Thanks for the heads up...I'm gonna give it a go for now b/c I got it with my kit. I'll keep an eye on it and check into the drag link down the road when I put on the high steer kit!!
Truck looks good . . . are the tires on the back bigger than the front?
Blocks in the rear cause axle wrap and wheel hop . . . the last thing you want to do is spit out a block in the middle of no where.
Boiler ~ I'm about to put on my 3/4 ton rough country lift . . I decided to go with a dana60 raised steering block instead of what you seem to have used in the...
I've also read on here of a few people running two red top optima batteries in the back tray and a regular battery in the front tray with a solargizer charging the front battery for all their accessories. This way you don't have to have a battery in your truck...this would be what I would do...
Well I just received my lift kit and I would definitely need new u bolts to fit . . . thanks for the link to WFO.
Luckily I have a forklift and I'll be posting some pictures of the truck flexed out . . . thanks for all the comments now just waiting on tires and new ubolts:beer:
Check out pirate4x4 under the vendor section maybe . . . theres a guy selling 37's with 90% tread all day long . . . he quoted me $530 for a set of 5 37" tires shipped to me!!!
I've been trying to decide which route to go
Sounds like a sweet set up there, post up some pictures if your able . . . well I just ordered my rough country lift kit and after talking things over with a couple of friends I decided to go with the 3/4 ton 4" lift, steering stabilizer, and 56" springs in the rear. I almost was going to order...
