My MEP003a story and Hertz issue

I would argue that the voltmeter in the panel sees full AC output voltage.

My MEP003a story and Hertz issue

It's a frequency transducer. It takes AC from the generator and makes a DC signal for the frequency meter. It and the meter are designed to work together as a set.

It seems there's a bunch of us here. :-D

I don't know... an Extra class amateur might not take too long to get it done. :)

    Generator Sizing for 550sqft Cabin?

Not being an easement expert, I'm not sure, but there may be an access easement that doesn't provide for running utilities. I like the solar solution for the low power stuff, but obviously one has to be willing to cut a few trees.

    MEP 003 intake heater base

I bet you can use 3/8" or 1/2" thick aluminum as well.

    MEP 003 intake heater base

Even easier to copy, if you were to want to go that route.

Does anyone run 208 volt 3 phase equip on 220 3 phase?

Excellent suggestion Guyfang, I don't know why I didn't think of that. Paul, you should be able to lower the generator output voltage by adjusting the voltage pot on the regulator board. Offhand I don't know how far down you can get it, but it will very likely get you low enough. That pot...

Does anyone run 208 volt 3 phase equip on 220 3 phase?

Just to clarify, a stepdown transformer is different from a buck-boost transformer. The stepdown supplies the full load power (voltage times current). A buck-boost, wired as a buck transformer, supplies only the load current times the buck voltage, not the full voltage. This means it can be...

Does anyone run 208 volt 3 phase equip on 220 3 phase?

I used to run my vertical mill on 240 3 phase with a rotary converter, but the motor plate says 208-240 VAC. Any chance you could call the manufacturer and get a tech guy on the phone? You might get some information to help solve the problem. 239 is only 15% higher than 208, which normally...

    MEP 003 intake heater base

Oh, if it's iron, then yes, just make a replacement. I assumed it was something like ceramic.

    MEP 003 intake heater base

I was assuming you could make a temporary blockoff plate until you find the replacement part.

    MEP 003 intake heater base

I can't imagine that you need the intake air preheaters in this weather. The prechamber glow plugs yes, but not the air preheaters.

Thanks guys, I'll tell my son you said that. I'm sure it'll make him happy.

    Mep 003 Fuel Pumps

OK, thanks. The Wiki fuel pump information clears up some of the pump valve questions. But the pump from an external tank just pumps into the built-in tank, so there's no series-pump problem there. It's just when you put two pumps in series to the built-in tank like they originally were, when...

    CH42 glow plugs

I know that at least the 002A and 003A run the glow plugs during cranking, so even if it seems like it's starting without them on warm days, it might not be. My 003A fires almost immediately if I run the glow plugs for 15 or 20 seconds on an 80 degree day, but takes some cranking if I don't.

    MEP-003 - Fuel Pump Issue?

Very good post. Another consideration is emergency operation when ham radio gear may be nearby.
