Above 32°F, do you hold the accelerator pedal down half way while starting? Below 32°F, do you hold it down all the way?
One of my M1009s will start the first time without any pedal holding after one GP cycle. I have tested this down to around 19°F! The other one requires more than one...
Just did the mod. Works great. Solid 'clunk' when energized. Take a look at how small the windings are in the OEM relay! Also, when I got the relay bar out, I noticed the GEN 2 relay was missing! After a quick trip to AdvanceAuto and $12, my GEN 2 light now works!
Just got a set of Smittybilt G.E.A.R. seat covers for my M1009 in OD for Christmas. Excellent product and fit. Just wondering if others have them and what kind of parts/gear they are putting in the MOLLE pockets.
Pull the original fuel filter. Connect a fuel hose from the inlet port to the outlet port with the filter off. Start it up. If it runs and has power, you fuel filter is clogged. This could solve all of your problems.
Help! I cannot get the filter to flow. I have tried the TM. I have connected an electric fuel pump to the small output side of the fuel filter and get nothing, even while purging with the cap off and the pink wire disconnected. The beast will not start, or if it does, will not hardly run...
While running V-85 in my 85 M-1009, I dumped in about 2 gallons of filtered WMO. I drove it about 10 miles the same day with no issues. The next morning, it started but starting losing power after about a mile on the road. I could not get it to stay started and towed it home. I changed out...
Problem solved! Normally, the WAIT light is on the left and the WATER IN FUEL light is on the right. Someone switched the lens. Since the bulb leads are different sizes, the WAIT lead is larger, the WAIT lead was on the WATER IN FUEL side. The bulb was burned out. The WATER lead was on the...
I have heard of mixing around 10 to 15% (v/v) premium gas with WVO; more in the winter, less in the summer. This makes the viscosity very similar to diesel fuel. The filtration goes much faster and then you just fill up your tank. Anyone else heard of this?
It will not start after this 2-3 second wait delay. The wait light comes on for this time regardless of ambient and/or engine temperature. Could it be a bad temp sending sensor?
When I turn the key, the wait light comes on for about 2-3 seconds. Looking at the voltage gauge I can see that the plugs are warming. After about 15 seconds (depending on temp, etc.), I know to listen for the relay to open and the gauge to rise, signaling that the glow plug cycle has...
Just started out with WMO/WVO in my M1009. Small scale at first. Used coffee filters to filter and then poured into the tank. Today it was a little hard to start. Calculated about 45% WVO from a seafood resturant. Diluted it with pump diesel to around 25% and no problems. Got a good supply...
My M1009 speedometer was really jumping around and at time would stop working altogether. I disconnected the speedo cable from where it enters the transmission and attached a drill to the inner square metal cable. While you spin it, check to see if the guage is working. If so, the problem is...
