Here they are registered by the VIN stamped on the data plate. One of my trucks had the same VIN is a boat motor in this state, so we made the VIN GMCXXXX.

Your VIN should be the number stamped on your data plate as NDT said. It is also stamped on the frame by the passenger side front wheel in front of the shock absorber. Hopefully it matches the plate in the cab.

I can't find any reference to the M220 having a winch in any of the TMs. There are some pictures on Google of a winch on an M220, but they are newer photos. If you put the winch on your M220, I doubt anyone would say anything about it being incorrect. Is that your truck in your avatar? If so...
