4x4 was rite about soaking the roots and that they actually go down on pine trees really far. I wouldn't use the winch but a tow strap or rope. No need to take a chance on busting the winch. Save it for when you really need it.

Finally after 2 weeks on nonstop sanding by hand it's finally done. It was fire engine red when I picked it up from the sale. First thing was to remove all the fire dept. stickers which was no fun at all. Then a lot of sanding. The one good thing is there is absolutely no rust in this truck at...
The cargo cover was on the very first deuce I ever bought. When I sold it the buyer didn't want to pay the asking price so the deal came out to be I would keep the cargo cover-bows and troop seats. I was glad it worked out that way because if you can find the cargo covers in the old style...

The clutch in the deuce was killing my bad knee so I picked up an 86 m1009 with 46,000 miles on it about 2 weeks ago and it has rained almost every day since and I have yet to find a leak. It seems awful strange in an mv driving in the rain and not getting soaked while driving like in the deuce...
Just change the key cylinder in the column-it can be done in about 10 minutes. then take the lock cylinders out of your doors and take them to any reputable lock smith and have them retumbled. I do the key cylinder in the column myself and the others at the locksmith. He charges $8 a lock...
If the motor in question runs good other than the shavings and low oil pressure you mite consider installing a crank kit. We have customers in our shop who have these engines in their vehicles and seems that they are usually good for around 200-300,000 miles before a rebuild is necessary.
