Matt, I've had issues with my speedo cable until I installed the longer cable and routed it with a larger wider bend towards the back. I don't have the man off hand but that did help and some guys have filled the cable with speedo cable grease.

Take off the tire and remove the plug that's online with the half shaft and remove that bolt that's behind the plug.

I KNOW you said there wasn't a clutch for the v belt set up. But the question of the possibility to break the alt still stands.

So if you install this upgrade kit without the clutch pulley doesn't one run into the possibility of snapping the shaft inside the alt?

Make sure it has the clutch pulley on it.

On many two door trucks the rear filler panel does open up vs the blanks that don't allow access.

I have a 2000 transmission. I see there is no drain plug on the pan. Does the pan shape vary that much between the years listed in which it calls out a kit pn: 8682888 or is that they simply removed the plug after 1996? I would prefer a pan with a plug set up myself unless there is a good...

Is there a difference in the harness that the body harness hooks to on the driver side of the transmission? I'll need to replace mine and I see em on eBay but wanted to see if anyone knew of anything special in regards to the harness.

Oh don't forget a grounding kit from kascar if you don't have one on the truck.

There is that cover on the alt under it all your wires connect to the alt there. You can test the hot wire (forget which one) and the ground and you need to be at 28v for a 24 volt system.

Your regulator could be set too low. There is an Allen head cap plug on top of the alt. Take that off and a regular sized Phillips screw driver will fit into the hold and connect to the adjustment "knob". Test your voltage coming off the alt and if it's too low turn that sucker one way or the...

I assumed this was a covered repair by AM General. I know it was back when there were HUMMER dealers. At this time I wouldn't know for sure.

Bigred350 and sublimemudtime, there is a correct piece of aluminum and a seal that is used on the two door civi Hummer and it works on the humvee also. I have one for my rig but haven't installed it yet. If I can find the paperwork and the pn I'll post it. If I forget just message me for a reminder.
