thanks for the info, of all the cards i have, none have the z-4 burn and only one is without it completely. another one of mine has the 3 legged transistor right below that burned up. the rest of mine show no damage at all. thanks again. mark
your in texas, that helps. its 45f here in austin today, cold to us but you could be in fargo. i have had 6 plugs bad and still able to start my truck when its 50's or so outside. runs rough but the other cylinders pick up quick.
dont buy the battery cables from the box auto store, they will not handle the current load. make some from welding cable or similar like others have said. thanks. mark
doesnt anyone change lock cylinders anymore ?? the box store sells a lock that your neighbor doesnt have a key too!!! or use the chain thats in the floor. or a hidden main power switch.
i hope you installed some music. i found one of those shelfs that hangs under the visors . room for lots of stuff up there including speakers without punching holes.
so glen, not to hijack the thread but where did you find your low mile 1009? i bought one with 3600 miles from a drug task force here in texas, came to them new from the army, they could not wrap there arms around the 24v electrical system enough to keep it running so they sold it. it still had...
i dont think most folks would do that when plugs cost around 8$ apiece. to check any one plug, unplug the wire lead, put your test light on a 12v source and check for continuity to ground. test light light's, glow plug is probably ok, doesn't light, pull it and change it, 10mm deep socket...
the mercedes diesel's from about 85 back did not need power to run at all. you could even push start the auto transmission, drive until the fuel ran out or you pushed the manual shut-off lever under the hood. if the vacuum pump was good you could shut them off with the key. been there, done...
non-working cards from some of the trucks ive had over the years. some have obvious overheat issues, some look perfect but all are bad as far as i know. we have people in this group that have the ability to repair them. for the moment its cheaper for me to install a manual switch.
1028 has trac-lock in the front, and a 3600lb payload. my truck at left will outpull our 2940 deere tractor when loaded. true 4 wheel drive makes all the difference. thanks, mark
let me know how it works out, glow plugs are available at the box parts store for about 6-8 apiece. ac/60g. 10mm deep socket to get them loose, and pray they come out in one piece, they make a tool if they are swelled. if you do break one off, pull the injector and get the pieces out. when you...
i had the same symptoms as you when i got my truck, i had high 15.2 out of the back and 12.2 out of the front battery when running. it seems the higher the voltage gets on the back the lower it gets on the front. my problem was the fuse that runs the gages. i dont know the connection but when i...
i own a 1010 and went through similar problems. your top alternator charges the front battery, its not charging. you have checked the fuses. with the truck running measure voltage across the back battery alone, what is it? what is the front? both alternators have 6 screws for the removal of the...
