after you warm it up, maybe 15 minutes, put your hand on one of the heater hoses going into the truck, you should not be able to hold it more than 5 seconds. if you can your thermostat is open or its not 195F. i have seen the manifold heater fitting stop up, not letting water circulate.

maybe someone else can help, i sent him original bolts and he has a gear reduction starter. :oops::oops:. i should have asked more questions, sorry. mark

sounds like the solinoid is not engageing the starter , you can buy it separately. if you have the starter out , you can test it on the bench to see if it engages properly. ground the case, put 12v or 24v to the batt post, jump the solinoid with a screwdriver and see if it jumps forward completely.

fuel pressure switch:confused: i think you mean water sensor. remove it from the old unit, replace the o-ring, and install it on the new unit. check it for leaks before you install the new filter.

suburban glass is different than blazer and they will not interchange. i have put all the electric stuff in a manual tailgate and it worked fine. i bypassed the safety switches so the window could be open when the tailgate is down

i think the last month was 8-86, because the 9th month would have pushed it into 87 model year.

if anyone is interested i would like to know the last 86 m1009 produced . i have seen serial numbers of 205000 and above. example, my 86 vin was 1g8ed18jxgf 205xxx. anyone have an 86 serial above that one?? thanks. mark

another thing to think about is that core prices for old batteries are very good right now. around 7 apiece . gather those old ones up and get enough dough for a down payment on an a couple of optima's:-D

a lot of the 84 models i had had flex ring problems in the pump, civilian and military.

i have fixed them, take the water sensor apart in the middle of the housing and you will see a common size o-ring. the way i tested it was remove the filter, put temporary rubber fuel lines on the inlet and outlet of the housing, fire it up and watch where the fuel comes out.

i had an 86 m1009 with 3600 miles. it was as nice as new, still had the original 10-15 rubber, no cracks in the dash. smelled new. i got 7500 for it . i think 12v conversion hurts it.

the picture shows a 6.2-6.5 civilian glow plug relay, i have seen them on 91-93 6.2 diesels.

i had a m1009 that was built in 8-86. vin was 1g8ed18jxgf206000 . or close. ive never seen a blazer that was 87 by model year (h in the vin). ive seen 87 year model trucks to about 15000 sequence number. latest truck date ive seen is 10-86. so im guessing oct 86 was the last of them.
