How can i tell if i have long or short injectors, do i have to pull them? Correct me if im wront but arent the later 6.2 and 6.5 injectors the same thread pitch? I remember reading about course and fine thread pitch but not long and short type.
So im in the process of making my CUCV my daily driver and want to replace the glow plugs and injectors while im at it. I did the turbo swap with a GM-8 turbo and all the 6.5 parts. Ive been looking at part numbers and trying to figure out if i should use stock 6.5 turbo injectors or just get...
Im only running a 2 inch lift but got the Tuff Country HD springs because they have the highest spring rate I could find. If you do a new leaf spring in the rear you technically wont be a 1 1/4 ton payload anymore but will probably ride a lot better. Theres altoa brands that are good superlift...
I turboed my 1009 with parts from a 6.5, cheaper than the banks kit by a lot. Cant comment on difference in performance but id imagine it should be similar. Parts are on ebay and readily available. It'll do 70-75 easily down the highway. Im also running 33's to so RPM is a bit lower than factory...
Is that the LMC truck harness or something different? Got a part #. Thanks, im pretty bad with electrical stuff. If it doesnt have a on/off switch its usually past my comprehension.
Well i installed the new lights today, went in easier than i thought. Thanks to the TM i actually read how to do it first. There still really dim so i think i gota look elsewhere for my problem. Where should i start? The high beams dont look bad but the low beams are barely even visible even...
I just ordered a set of these lights. http://www.buyheadlightbulbs.com/H6054-Sealed-Beam-Conversion-8x6-p/un76in-1767chx. Will post up some reviews and pics after the install. Hope there not junk but seemed decent for the price. Definately not the hi-speed LED lights, those are pretty nice but...
Got my warn hubs in today, pretty easy install on one side. The other side was completely trashed tho. Locking nusts obviously werent tightened and fell out when i took the hub out. Its full of metal shavings and my spindle is junked, so off to the scrap yard to find a replacement. The side that...
Ill look at that in the morning, it didnt seem like there was any easy way to get to them. The manifold sticks up right over where the lines are and it looks like it have to be stretch armstrong to get in there and get the lines out. didnt think about going at it from below hopefully itll work.
That was alot easier than expected, at least the driver side. Went on easy enough and havent leaked yet. Now my turbo is in the way on the pass side so gota yank that and the manifold off to get to them. Its always something i guess.
Anybody have pictures of the compressor mounted? Im curious if it would get in the way of the turbo, and relocated batteries in my rig. Summers coming up pretty soon and cold air is always a plus. Or i could go cheap and just ditch the doors for turbo AC.
I also run 33's and have the stock 3.08 gears, id like to go with 3.73 if i were to change them. Give you a little more bottom end than the 3.08 and stil be able to go decent on the highway. I just rebuilt my Th400 so the overdrive swap is out of the question for now.
I had a problem with my speedo to, the needle actually broke off inside the gauge and the cablle was stripped out. It would bounce back and forth between 15-60 mph while cruisning down the road. I took it to Dicks Speedo Tach in Tempe, Az and they fixed it for me and made me a new cable. I...
The fuel return lines in my 86 m1009 cracked and started leaking. I got the new replacement hose from ebay that supposedly dont need hose clampse just press on. My question is am i supposed to bleed the ines out after i replace them the same way i would if i replaced a fuel filter or do i not...
I may have a bad ground on one light, its barely visible on low beam and noticably dimmer than the other side. High beams are decent but low beams put out about as much light as a AA flashlight. Thanks for the advice, will be upgrading this soon.
Anybody know a source for new headlights possibly HID? My lights are all but useless and barely put out any light to teh point its not even safe to drive at night. Would like to upgrade them while im at it.
Sorry for the slow response, ill try to get some good pictures of it this week and post them up. I had a local muffler shop bend it up for me and do the whole exhaust so i cant take any credit for it but ill put up the pics of how it was done and hopefully helo you guys out.
