Where did you put the temp probe into? Thats something i need to do. Got my boost and egt gauge but would like a water temop just for the **** of it. As for hot weather im in AZ as well and so far havent had any issues with cooling. Oil is the usual rotela t 15-40 dont bother with anything special.
Truck looks great! Its so bright green to, mine looks like a faded split pea soup green compared to yours. Did the 14 bolt rear bolt up or did you end up having to move the perches?
Thanks for the part number, i was going to replace the high pressure hoses when i replace my PS pump. Figured id do it all while i got it apart. I know Rock auto has some listed if you search by model/year. Ill have to look at there part numbers and compare. Just checked there the same.
Yes, huge difference. Actually has balls now and doesnt take half a day to get up to 55. Dont remember what it cost but it was under 2K with the turbo being rebuilt and all the little stuff . Pieced together it all locally.
Thanks for the advice guys. I was thinking it was something a machine shop would have to do. Ill make sure i get some good bits and taps when i do it. Next question is would this put any more strain on the output shaft than a normal driveline with a slip yoke? Seems all the kits with shorter...
Im in the parts collection phase of doing an axle swap and considering doing a SYE on my m1009 when i put the 14 bolt in the rear. I figured while im at it i may as well get a new drive shaft made with 1 ton u joints. Has anyone used this kit http://www.driveshaftsuperstore.com/SYE_Kits_$375.htm...
Can someone please post some pics of the rear seat mounts. Where it locks down and where it folds in the front. My m1009 didnt have a rear seat when i got it and from what i can tell the front mounts that the seat folds on are missing. I have a rear seat out of a 78 K5 i was trying to make fit...
Id have to get creative to where i plumbed. Im running a gm-8 turbo and slapped a K&N filter right on the inlet side of the turbo. Werent they originally mounted on the pass side valve cover? Mine never had one and ive never looked under the hood of another cucv to tell.
Is there a gasket or o-ring that seals the filler tube to the block? Mine is a mess and it looks like its blowing oil all over the underside of my hood. The matting is covered in oil and my air filters gets really dirty mainly from the oil. I dont have a CDR but have a breather coming off the...
How would you mount the compressor? Think the nostalgic air bracket and pulley would work for this setup? Definitely alot cheaper than the other options would be nice to have AC in the truck in the summertime.
Fuel return lines leaked from old age. Got some new ones from fleabay and they sucked to, cracked and split after a year so replaced them again. Fuel filter also leaked when i bumped it changing my heater core. Pretty common i guess just put a new filter on. Will go to a spin on filter one of...
Nice looking rig, what size tires are you running and how much lift? Have you thought about making some shock towers for it to run a longer shock? I remember people using f250/350 shock mounts for different applications like that ill see if i can find a link to one.
Rodger that, will look for stock injectors than. Was trying to see if anyone knew if that brand was any good or junk rebuilt injectors? Ive been having a hard time finding quality replacement injectors. If anyone knows a source i would greatly appreciate it!
Does anyone know if the STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # FJ171 fuel injectors from rock auto are any good? Im looking for some new injectors for my 86 turboed m1009 and having a hard time finding good ones at a decent price. There $28 a piece from rock auto about half of what i could find delphi...
