I'm sure they sell trucks in Illinois via Auctions daily and it should not be an issue for them. Use the Internet services your taxes are...
Trade
As I haven't started working on anything I could always ask them. The one I picked up had a forklift come up under her and bent both driveshafts (would have to swap in yours) It's not a winch model, and they already have one with winch in early MERC (can't remember the abreviation)...
Thanks, even easier to keep it all in place. Anyone know when the Fiberglass troops seats came out?
Kinda wish someone wanted a hard top in trade for a canvas with bows, even used would be more representative on this truck.

I have a totally different set of mirror arms available, they came of an early deuce and have forged arms bent in a "U" shape where one side attaches to the cab windshield pivot area and the other end holds the mirror. OR I could remove some of the West Coast bracing and make the simplified...
I have been tasked (as a Virginia Military Preservation Association member) with painting a Fort Eustis Transportation Museum's M35A2 to Vietnam era colors.
Before I begin, I was wondering if we should retrofit it with some earlier parts to represent early 70's or such. Here's a description...
Unusual Towbar
Thanks for the info, I figured it may be something for the 5T FMTV or such, but only time will tell. I have two tank bars and two mediums (one snapped in half) been using them for years, best advice is to pull in the truck as close as possible, and use a larger towbar when in...
A friend bought a Medium Towbar he was told for a Deuce.
It's non-adjustable and has what appears to be 2" holes where the end adapters would go, additionally, the ends are angled. (if the photo's attached)
Anyone know where he might locate a set of end adapters for a Deuce?:jumpin:
It's not...
Just replaced the Accelerator Pump pistion (Rubber) in my WWII GPW, then found the one in my 3/4t Dodge Zeinth was frozen inside the well (Bronze).
Been away in Afghanistan for a year, no one drove them and seems the new crappy 10% fuel messed up the innards.
Might check the accelerator piston...
Of course it could also be that if someone with a CCKW doesn't do it, you'll see a M35.... just like many movies that can't source the right stuff.
I wasn't researching/advocating or anything other than passing the opportunity for a collector to get their vehicle in a movie. I personally had...
Instead of all the tie downs they should have just left the framing pipe open in those areas so you can strap directly to the frame. Why add 10 extra tiedowns that increase weight...Oh they look better I suppose...

Passing this along, not likely to be a lot of $, but notariety is enough for some.

I was given your name by a close friend of mine John Seburn in regards to a film project I am working on for PBS. I have been trying to find a WWII Deuce and Half for...
After struggling all day to get a 3/4 9:00x16 tire off a WWII rim, and finally doing one of the five, I tossed the remainder in the pickuptruck, headed to the truck tire place. In 30 minutes, a crew of four with the sledge shaped wedge and "Experience" de-mounted all four tires and I was on my...
If you read the fine print on the add for the pinion brake assembly they say it also damages the pinions if used for braking action.
I'd advance with caution there.
What i did see that was interesting was using commercial disk brake hubs on a Deuce axle (they make a 8 bolt Civy truck) which...
With the exception of the automatic transmission shift plate these are identical (or close enough). I saw the sets that were for sale in 2007, but unless this is a set of them...and for sale.... they were $40 then :-Dguess that wouldn't happen now .
IS this set for sale?
The individual...
Here's the before and "during" pics of her. Figure to make her 8th Transportation Group with the yellow nose, in support of "Eve of Destruction" (5T gun truck) sitting at Fort Eustis (about 10 miles away)
This way we can honor Vietnam, while supporting our local Forts present day activities...
Ok, I'll post a pic tonight, but we now have a Vietnam issue M543A2 back in 1968 colors. (oldest marking I could find was under the hood for 10-07-68 Antifreeze)
Still have to do the markings and such, instal my Oxy Act set and the gear, but I have the Winter to get it done.
Looking for a set...
Thanks Mike.
I figured it was a simple part, I'll look through the Parts Manuals and see what references, then hit NAPA if I do find it's leaking (and not the line or fitting)
Thanks again.

Next to find a right side PTO for an old Spicer transmission in that beast...Then the front...
Group has a M543A3 Wrecker, since returning from Afghanistan last week, I've got her running (Albiet on 5+ year old fuel) the brake master rebuilt today and the boom lift cylinder hose replaced.
I noticed a hiss of air leaking from the rear winch tensioner (looks like a Semi-Truck brake...
As no one mentioned it, hot water and crystal Draino work well at removing the gunk within. Has to be the Crystals though, liquid does not work.
Sloshed it around a few tanks and never had a problem once triple rinsed and allowed to dry, etc.
24 Hours left in Afghanistan, transfered...
I'm for the ground being bad as posted earlier. Makes more sense.
Hydrostatic lock while running could only occur if you poured water into the intake, or filled the oil pan with a bad fuel pump (civilian gas engine style w/ bad diaphram)
For "both" trucks to do this, with one doing it 'after...
