Just want to make sure I have things right before I go ordering cables. I got a RT-524 radio (thanks CARNAC) and now need the cables to hook it up. I plan on putting a MX-7777 in the set up for added electical protection for my electronics. Also I plan on getting the MX-6707 antenna matching...
Try www.fairradio.com. I believe the cable number is CX-8650. They have a couple different lengths. Just type the cable number in the search box. Their stuff seems to be fairly reasonably priced as well. I am planning on ordering some cables and other stuff from them myself. Hope this helps.
Well, I found everything for a complete VIC-1 system. Hopefully this weekend I will have a chance to try and hook it up and see if I can get it working. I got a complete set with 2 crew stations and a headset. Next on my list is to find a radio to add in to the set up. Thanks for all help!!
Thanks for the info. If I will be fine without I will leave it out for now. Possibly in the future if I get a radio I will add it in. For now I'm mainly going just for the VIC-1 to help keep some of the cost down.
Awesome! Glad to know those headsets will work with a whistler. From what I keep reading the VIC-1 seems to be one of the best systems to use and it doesn't seem like it is stupid expensive either.
Well, if you have any parts for sale pm me and let me know. I'm sure I can work something out. Now, as far as the parts is it best to put the surge suppressor in the line up or are they ok without? This is my first time dealing with this system so I'm not too sure. I had read over your post...
So I'm looking at adding a VIC-1 system in my truck. What is a decent price for the main control and say 4 crew stations? Also is there any other piece of equipment needed? I still need to figure out what cables and how many I would need but I am taking this one step at a time. Any help is...
After finally getting everything fixed mechanically and getting it driving upgrades have started. Swapped out the 11X20's with 395 super singles.
Got dark by the time we finished with the fronts so I will get some pics to show the entire truck with the super singles. I have to send a big...
Thanks I will give that a try when I get home fom work today. Hopefully it works. It is going to suck some if it is a switch since all the switches are new. Oh well, still not a hard fix if it is the switch. Sometimes new parts dont work.
So as I have been working on my truck one of the issues I had was no turn signals or break lights. Headlights and rear parking lights are fine. I have repaired the rear wiring harness, installed a NOS front harness, new three lever light switch, new turn signal switch on the steering column...
I am just about done with all the mechanical work on my truck. I already have most of it painted as well. I want to have it marked as a USMC vehicle since I spent time in the Corps. Where can I find something that shows the correct stencil locations and lettering size for a M52A2 so I can...
Looking for some help to remove the front dash to be able to replace my front wiring harness. I have a ton of bare and broken wires under the dash of my M52A2 and decided the best course of action is to replace the wiring harness. I have the new wiring harness in hand and just need to get the...
Ok, so I tried to fix my brake line with a compression fitting last night and could not get one to fit. What is the diameter of the hard line on the rear of the truck? I tried a 5/16 and a 3/8 compression fitting and neither of them would fit on the line.
Yeah, I figured nobody would have prebent line. just curious, do you think steel braided flex hose would work for that to make it easier to install? I could probably get a few sections of flex line made so if one ruptures I can replace smaller sections if one ruptures or breaks in the future.
Ok, so stupid me. I was installing my rear wiring harness and managed to break the hard brake line from the master cylinder to the back of the truck. I know it is a project but I am getting frustrated. Every time I fix one thing something else breaks. I have had the truck since October and...
I was looking at that too. It looks like about the only difference I have found so far between mine and the deuce harness is the transfer pump for the right hand fuel tank. I know when we checked it the transfer pump works so it is just issues with the lights. I was looking at the wires the...
