We are moving to scurry, south west of kaufman, when i get there, I got a lot to do but will try and get a week end off so I can drive around and visit, or maybe set up a meet and greet with all the local SS members
We closed on our new place in TEXAS and as soon as a few things get updated, we will be heading west. The first trip will be in 2-3 weeks, and should be no problem with the U Hauls. The SECOND is gona be the one I worry about. we are coming back on a bus, and getting here to load up 5 horses...
use a baby sledge hammer and hit it away from the trailer on each side of the "O". after about 6 smacks, the thing will pop out. you can try to use a loosening agent, but the shaft is tapered, and it will pop out with out it.
check with 100dollarman. he makes the plates, and you can mount them in front, or press out the studs and press them in the plate and mount them that way.
Someday he will sell, and when he does, I will be there with a Clint Eastwood movie (Fist Full of Dollars) ready to buy. So if you all still want to donate to the "SFC Gagnons gona get his old truck back" fund, I would appreciate it. Wreckerman, please do not wear her out, she deserves better...
So my good friend wreckerman got it, well, all i need to do now is keep saving, and maybe, just maybe he will sell it to me when i have all my $. Does that sound like a plan wreckerman?
I used to work at the USP&FO Warehouse on Camp Blanding, and was there when A-4 was turned in by the Supply NCO. he told me it was there and I had a break so I went out to the yard and took pics of the old girl,. It brought back memories of calibration runs ad Class 1 runs to Camp Blanding, as...
She is an M927A2. I got a high bow kit for it when we were deployed for OIF, it has a rack on the passenger side I created and installed to store the camo nets and the pole sets. I pulled a water trailer with it, and as you know, the water trailer has no spare, and is supposed to be pulled by a...
The bid is up to $6900, and that is way above any $ I have to bid on it. It would be great to have it back, but I know she will do a great job for whom ever wins her. Thank you all for your generosity, YOU ARE TRULY GREAT AMERICANS!!!!
I was just looking around GL and came across a 5 ton that looked VERY familiar,. After watching the video that came with the add, I realized it was MY truck from my days as a Supply NCO in the Florida National Guard. Well, I always said if it came up for sale on GL, I was gona buy it. well as...
I took a pedestal lift from harbor freight, cost new was 150, got it from a guy for $50 and built a replacement for the rotating head that is made of 3x3 square tubing, I added hing pins with spacers to allow them to drop into the 2 6 inch pipes, mounted on my roll bar on the passenger side, and...
Mtv/lmtv rims. You can tell the difference in the location of the counter weight is missing from the opposite side of the ctis valve. The mtv family does not use the weight.
Plate ID
It could be a frame protection plate. Some deuces were dumps, and it looks Like the plate is in the right place to protect the frame from the dump bed guides as they came down after dumping their load. Check the age of you truck. The Army being what it is, probably contracted ALL the...
one more thing, when you do get the walking beam out, remove or grind down the rivets sticking up, the edges will be sharp, and will cut like a knife when you are trying to roll or handle it. been there, done that, have the scars to prove it.
I start with a 3/4 inch chisel, I start at the back of the truck and get the chisel started and use a pair of vice grips to hold it. After you get it started, and you get the gap growing, you can move up to ta bigger chisel, or an old axe head. if you jack up the truck and suspend the walking...
