purchased a 24 volt Solargizer and was wondering where would be the best place to install this unit. To the terminals on the batts or to the terminal blocks on the fire wall. Just wondering if anybody had some pics to to look at too.
just curious what kind of lift ya ended up going with and how tall. I would like to do mine but not sure what to buy and everything else that is needed. I have the set you have on the 1008 and also a set of the radial version. Any help would be great, thanks
I have an '87 with the M1010 pkg under the hood. Neat and rare truck. Also with the tru-lok front end. Let me know if you have any charging issues. Some of these trucks had problems with the front battery holding a charge or I should say getting a charge. My A/C was never hooked up. My 2 a/c...
Well thanks for that info. I think I will still try it just to see for myself. Another route to go is HID headlights. You can purchase the bulb housing for $25 bucks a side and then purchase your bulbs and ballasts for roughly $60 bucks. And you can get a slew of colors. The 2 big things with...
Only thing I can add is my starter stuck one time and it ended up burning the 12V supply coming from the battery. You know the red wire leaving the battery that turns into a blue wire and then connects to the 2 post block on the firewall. I had nothing when that went. No Ignition, lights, dash...
I was thinking of what yellow headlights were for. I've seen them on Deuces
before and wondered if the cucv ever had them. I think it would be easier than trying to mount something on the grill guard. I've seen the spray on yellow tint and sometime ago (ebay) someone had a set of lights made by...
I used a good quality block heater. Zerostart 1000 watt part number 3100059 costs around $50 bucks. There were cheaper ones. Took approx 1.5hrs to get the old old and in with the new. It went on the driver side center frost plug. and it can be positioned at either 12 O'clock or 6 O'clock...
I have an '87 M1028 with the 24V Leece and Neville alts. The owner before me had trouble trying to keep the front battery charged. He replaced the Duvac Blue Box and still had trouble. Also the orange wire mod thing was done and still had trouble. When I got the truck I had checked both...
I've got the dash apart. If I very carefully move the needle on empty it will then move it self to 3/8 once the key is turned on. If I place the needle to full. It then will go back to 3/8 once the key is turned on. I've got 12v on the left contact. I've got ground on the bottom contact. The...
Ok the gauge read a needle with below 3/8 of a tank. Went down to fill it up. Took 6.8 gal.
Now it reads a needle width past 3/8 of a tank. The ground I took off and cleaned throughly alone with the frame were it mounts.
I would like to troubleshoot my fuel gauge. It stays in the same spot. I found a troubleshooting guide some time ago to use and now can't seem to find it or remember obviously were I placed it. Any help? I have a M1028
I was in NMCB 74 Charlie Company from 91-94. BU of coarse. The carc paint was very easy to use. I was expecting a very difficult time. But then again I had never painted a vehicle before. So I was a little apprehensive. I guess you never can get rid of the "Can Do" spirit!!!!
some more pics
Forgot to mention I added red LED lights to the dash. Also during this I sprayed the inside of the gauge pods with "chrome" paint. It really made the lights reflect brighter. No squinting to see the gauges and looks better. I even did the 4x4 shiftlight with a red LED. All other...
Hello guys, I finally got to paint my truck. My brother came down from NH and gave me a hand. I picked up some carc and a Binks model 62 spray gun and went to town. I also bought some Rustoleum bed liner and did the floor boards and the bed of the truck. I want to lift the truck and and put a...
This winter I had to replace the section of wire coming from the battery going to the 12V block on the fire wall. (the blue section) The starter had stuck on and got hot enough to melt that section of wire. In its place I had thrown in a radio wire fuse like you see on installs of police cars...
I have not run that in my 1028 yet. Thinking about it though. I have a diesel chevette that I ran bio diesel, kerosene, home heating oil and veggie. All run great no problems. But i will say filter that veggie good. It will clog it up if you don't. The smell is awesome and people will love it...
