The overlay is on the back of the instrument cluster. Now that I think about it a little more, that wouldn't effect your Charge reading assuming that your gauge is separate from the instrument cluster. Forget that unless someone tells us different...Still sound like a loose connection to me from...
Welcome....newb.....when I first got my M1109, the Battery hold downs were shorting the Batteries due to corrosion. Not good,check that. So I removed both and replaced with Optima Blue Tops and placed them on the rear rack. No trouble since...If you find no trouble there, replace the battery(s)...

Use a NAPA ST-85 for the GP relay. 12vdc Coil, switches the 24vdc to the GP's...
Use AC60G for the Glow plugs. You'll have to grind the connectors to make them fit...Worked great for me

I purchased my first MV last week, installed new batteries to drive it home. Ran fine for two days. Now when I try to start it the Glow Plug Light stays on as long as the ignition is on. It turns over fine. It's still the 24v system. I suspect the Glow Plug Module or Temp sensor. Then again it...
