Very good info, thx!
I've been switching over around 130F. I may have to rethink that.
Do you block part of your raidator off in the WI winters? When I'm on the interstate, my fuel temp drops to 160F w/ two 30 plate FPHE's.
When you speak of GP relay chatter, is it only while the GP's are heating as they should? Or is it still chattering when you're 30 miles down the road, like mine does???
I'd say go for the dark colors. Gasoline would definately evaporate quicker, but it sounds like you'll be running WMO. Anything that evaporates from WMO / WVO is probably a good thing. :)
The darker color (& warmer fuel) will also help gravity settle out the suspensed particles.
Just my $0.02
If you can weld, the mounting options are limitless. I put a 17,500lb winch on the front of my M1009. I want to be able to sink it to the axles & not even question whether it will pull itself out. The 7/16" cable does take some effort though.
I made a winch bumper out of 3"x3"x.25" angle for my M1009 & I'm liking it. I overbuilt a bit & used 3/8" plate for the winch mounting plate.
I cut the brackets off the stock brush guard & modified it to fit my new bumper. It still looks military (sort of) & provides better protection. I...
I started mixing filtered SVO in my second tank yesterday on my M1009. I'm currently running a 50/50 SVO/diesel mix & there's no noticeable difference.
My temperatures aren't where I want them though. The main concern is when I'm cruising @ 65mph, the oil temp drops down to 162F. I'd...
Don't suppose you have a hydraulic press by chance? I'd estimate it took about 2 tons of force to break the pintle hook free. Years worth of dried up, caked up, contaminated grease locked it pretty tight.
I'm thinking of bidding on a M116A2 trailer & a few spare 6.2L engines. So, I was hoping someone could tell me how many 6.2L's in containers would reasonably fit on a M116A2?
Thanks,
John O>.
