I like it and good luck.
If you are in NY on 5/16-518 and on I-88, stop in Cobbleskill (exit #21) for our www.wingwheelsandtracks.com show.
Otherwise, I am 15 miles from Albany, glad to assist.
There have been many threads on this site about filte- adapters and other various ideas that update the oiling-filter system.
I currently use the Jatonka spin-ons that are availabe in the classified section or on his website: www.jatonkasm35s.com. Do a search in the forum and you will have...
BTW, I think we had an easier travel because none of the bumper markings were painted over prior to decommision. As far as anybody know, the trucks were still active, and we dressed in full camo to help sell the part. Any thoughts?
Re: RE: Nice looking trucks!
Hi Doc,
Any info you have would be greatly appreciated.
Maddawg,
See you in Sept. if not sooner.
P.S. Did you ever get rid of the HQ tent?
Jatonka, Uncle John and I went to Anneville Pa. last Friday to retrieve our trucks. We departed Jatonka's shop at 0430. UJ, 84, threw out his alarm clock after he retired, so he camped out at the shop the night before.
The trip down was uneventfull, reaching Anneville at 1130. Mike from GL was...
I just finished reading, "Great List" for picking-up a deuce, and it occured to me that nobody included a license plate.
I won 2 deuces out of Anneville and plan on flat towing them home when my EUC clears.
My question is, or maybe this is a poll, but who:
1. Gets a plate then drives their...
Tom,
Do you plan on pitching a tent or do you have your truck and trailer setup to camp in?
New clutch and bearings should make for a worry-free ride.

Don't forget the "Wingwheelsandtracks.com" show in Cobbleskill, New York. Lots to look at: living history area, vending spaces, parade (65+ vehicles last year) and USO show on Saturday evening. Armed Forces weekend (weekend after Aberdeen).
I called to make an appointment on Monday to view the trucks on Thursday, 24 hours notice right? Turns out that "unmanned", in Ft. Indian Gap Pa., means that you may only preview vehicles during the actual auction time-window for that particular event.
After talking to a very nice...
AVM was the first to make a lock-out hub for the 2 1/2 ton Rockwell axel back in the early '50's.
Last I heard there was only 2 hub manufactures left. I don't recall which company dropped-out or just refused to not produce w/o a 50+/- unit commitment.
As for the 4x4 or 4x6 ...good point...
That's about as long as it took me to install them with the same "tool-hunt" situation.
Installation could not have been any easier.
I went on short ride in my development to see if there was any new noises. Nothing new, but also too short a ride to get the square out of the tires.
Re: RE: Re: Picked up a M328 Bridging Truck. It
the easiest way to make this legal width would be to flip the rear hubs and single out the rear tires, and do away with the spacers.
Regards,
David
The front is not overwidth, so if you plan to use the stock 14.00x20 tires you must leave the...
I just received my lockout hubs from Jatonka. They are truly a work of art. They look, good, feel good ......and smell good!
Should be easy, the directions look straight foward and the kit has all the gaskets and pieces.
I plan on installing them this weekend, I will keep you posted.
Ken Lien from the Ft. Drum DRMO died last night.
Anybody that has purchased a vehicle from there knew Kenny and liked him.
Details of his death and ceremony are limited. If anybody from the Watertown, New York area can post the details from a local paper it would be appreciated.
I have a set on my deuce. I found that in the winter months the gasket that reseats on the valve after purging the air can freeze open. Similar to the blowvalves on the USS Scorpion. Anyway, after the initial draining additional moisture from the tanks accumulate on the valves and freeze them...
My Deuce will run happy WFO all day long, 59mph @ 2400+/- rpm. I try not to hit that speed with the troop carrier cover on because it looks like it will tear-off at any moment.
My speed is conservative with respect to posted limits.
There is seldom traffic where I am going, only where I have...
