the military always over engineer things.yes our hobby needs the option of disc brakes so as long as you completely design a d/b system it will sell a few sets a year. from my experience I,d only do a run or 6 sets to test the waters. like i say this is a hard crowd to get $ out of. 1 thing that...
the only reason the "stock" brakes perform poorly is because only a very few folk actually know how to adjust and maintain the brakes. i have helitools disc kits ft & rear they are nice but from my experience most m715 folks are so tight they squeek when they walk like ( putting a car master...
Dana spicer never made a 4:10 and down carrier or r&p for the 1/2" offset m715 early style axle. All that is or ever was available is 4"56 and up number wise. Dont matter its your truck, enjoy it the way you want it,i do all of mine.
All i say is why ? A bone stock 305 or at the most a stock 350 is perfect unless your gonna go to the mud drags. AND WHO IN THE WORLD MAKES 4:10 GEARS FOR THE STOCK M715 D70 REAR AXLE ?

As a general rule you get what you pay for and getting one that is unmolested and never in the hands of a "well lets say a person who buggers things up " 7 k is a fair price. All my mint m715's start at 10k and price isnt negotiable. Theres tons of molested m715,s out there where folk think they...
there only known for being abused. the reason yours droped a valve is because the person on the gas pedel over reved it and floated the valves hence the piston hit it. also I make the most complete engine adapter kit going period. been makin em for 30+ yrs
I have new old stock engines, trans and t-cases, there excellent engines made with hi quality materials and design and only the most modern hi-perf of todays engines have this engines quality. 99% of the civy owners know little about this engine especially the young folk. 99% of these go bad from...
About all the stock ones are bent (warped) because there only 1/16" thick. I have a repro one in stock thickness and in 1/8" thick if you cant find a take off. "no jeep letters" in the repro's.

hydro boost is way overkill for a m715 unless you live in the hi mountains or tow really heavy. and finding 8 lug rear hubs is really hard. why 5.87 ? 4.56 and hummer tires is far better. open knuckle front ???????? dont make sence. modern d60 and 14 bolt rear is the route i,d go.JMO because...
enjoy the build as all you can do when its done is drive it. things you might want to consider-
1. install a h/d "truck split master cylinder brake kit
2. look for and install a np202 or np205 divorced transfer case (the stock np200 will over heat when driven on the highway)
if you need any...
its one of the best farm trucks ever made I might suggest a power lock in the front axle, lockout hubs, split master cylinder for brakes and a detroit locker in rear axle.

No the gm d70 stuff will not fit a m715 d70. You need avery early dodge set of rear hubs. The front is going to be the real hard to find stuff. Your far better off just swaping to newer axles. Whats wrong with the 6 lug stock axles ? There trouble free and very dependable. Custom rims are...
