    Winch

the only welding was the threaded bungs into the frame rails, mosltly just cutting and drilling, I use a 4" grinder with a cut of blade that seems to cut quick and easy, a drill press would make the holes in the plate. I made my first winch mount for my jeep out of a flat piece of 3/8 steel...

    front spring opinions

so the basic kits hold up pretty well! do you have to get the heavy duty kit or 3/4 ton? the guy over at deaver said they have 1/2 ton springs but they wouldn't hold up, I removed my brush gaurd for a little wieght savings and better fuel milage!

    Winch

as far as mounting a winch Freds army truck in petersons 4wheel is really the best way to do it , I think he used a flat mounting plate "jeep" style and used some bungs that he welded in to the frame rails to mount the plate, there is a write up on it at the website http://www.4wheeloffroad.com/

THE HUMMER GUY: The first thing I did "trouble shooting" my military system was to bypass the resistor and go straight to the 12v block, I remember the glow light coming on normaly but would get shorter and shorter as the plugs were dying off one by one, I went through two more complete sets of...

    OMG! HELP!!

with a cv the slip yoke ends up at the other end of the drive shaft *see front drive shaft* you need to cut off the splined output shaft of the t-case and drill and tap it for a cv style yoke, I think there are people out there that make a kit for this I know of one for the np241 and the 208...

    Upgrading 1009 axles

the cucv 14 bolt will swap right in, same pad spacing, the 60 in another story, with the 3sp 400 and 4.56 gears you start winding the diesel out at about 60 mph with 35" tires, thats quite a ratio jump from the 10bolt, if you plan on raising it up hacking out the fenders and running at least a...
