    4 wd light

I think the Auto Zone and NAPA parts numbers that Warthog posted are correct, but I haven't personally inspected either part. I just had my local NAPA confirm the part number and check his online photos for me. I should have the part Monday afternoon. I'll keep you posted.

    4 wd light

FYI - the switch from Advance Auto Parts will not work; three prong connection (don't ask me how I know). Also, here's what I've learned this week: Just because the part's store computer says it fits doesn't make it so. If possible, take off and take in the old part to compare. If you can't, but...

A tire question for my brothers in the South

The Office references are never too juvenile for me!

A tire question for my brothers in the South

Rough Country 2" suspension lift with new shocks and stabilizer bar installed. Before and after photos attached. 2" DOES make a difference.

    Tuff Country lift

Here are before and after photos. I got a Rough Country 2" suspension lift. The tires are 33x12.50x15 Goodyear Wrangler DuraTracs. Even if you can't see it in the photos, there IS a difference in person.

    Soft top/ hard top question

Can you check into that and let me know? JUST KIDDING. Thanks for all the info Warthog.

    Soft top/ hard top question

I've got an '85 M1009. If I get a Softopper or Skyler tonneau-style cover, can I still put my hard top back on. If so, how much hassle is there switching back and forth?

    Fiberglass Dash?

Hmmm, you guys are inspiring me. My dash has several cracks and splits, and one of those velour covers over it right now. I've never worked with fiberglass before, but I wonder if I could take it down to the bare metal, build it back up with something novice-friendly and then just put the...

    Tuff Country lift

I may end up there one day, with 35s underneath; but, for right now 33s w/ a 2" lift is a nice ratio. Besides, my wife and youngest son complain about "climbing up" into her (the Blazer) right now. And, I'm not getting any younger, or limber, myself (sigh).

Lights in the grill guard - show me your pics!

Ok, I want to add some additional driving/off-road lights in my grill guard (and maybe on the back too). Let me see your set-up! Also, any suggestions on the best watts for the buck would be appreciated. :-)

    Seat covers for M1009

I don't know if you're still looking for seat covers, but I got these at Pep Boys for about $20.00 each. They have a drawstring adjustment for the back of the seat. You can't see them (I need to take a photo), but there are zipper and velcro pouches on the back and sides too.

    Tuff Country lift

I think the company has that kit coded wrong on their website. When I was chatting with "customer service" I gave them the year, make, and model and was told that they don't have a 2" kit for that vehicle. I told CS that I had entered the same information into their website that very moment...

    Tuff Country lift

ALERT - The Rough Country 2" suspension lift kit from autopartswarehouse.com, part #ROU5205 , does NOT fit the M1009. The front springs are too short. I found this out after my guy had already installed the back blocks and then tried to install the front springs. Now, in order to get a refund...

    Where's Your License Plate?

This is where mine was located when I bought it. I'm still researching it, but my old police officer buddy says that if the vehicle wasn't originally equipped with a lighted tag, then I don't need one here in GA.

    Tuff Country lift

I dropped my M1009 off at a local guy's house this afternoon so that he can start the install of my Rough Country 2" lift. He came highly recommended and he used to be the lift install guy for a local performance truck place. I was considering Tuff Country too, but time and money were a factor...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Long story short, while getting my 2nd column switch to replace the 1st "defective" one, I discovered that you have to remove the packing brace so that the switch will go all the way down and click. Column switch works fine now.

    Howdy from a Newbie

LOL. Well, keep the photos coming. You're the daddy, but I feel kinda like an uncle.

    Howdy from a Newbie

I was one of the bidders on "your truck" too. I raised my top dollar at least once, but I wasn't even close there at the end. However, it worked out well for me because after the auction ended, my son decided to sell me his M1009 (that we bought in Jan.).

A tire question for my brothers in the South

When out again yesterday afternoon with just my youngest son. We took on, and totally dominated, "the quarry" here in Walton County, GA. We went up, around, down and through that bad boy with no problems. We only skipped one spot - it was a perfect bowl shaped depression with a slope of...
