I don't mean to poo poo anybody's idea's, but "cheaper & easier"? I get the draw of wanting to utilize the lift shackles on a CUCV. But it would be much cheaper, and about the same effort, to mount the winch hidden behind the bumper. And you wouldn't have to worry about those (Badlands) winches...
Do you mean between down shifting? Also sometimes if your going around a curve the right way the rear locker will wind up & break loose. Causing the truck to kind of shimmy strangely.
Have you tried jumping the glow plug solenoid? That way your basically hot wiring the glow plugs to force them to work. when you do it just hold it for 10 seconds at a time. Either is bad news.
I grew up in the city, in apartment complexes. I've had several bicycles stolen, cars broken into, and basically anything not bolted down go missing:roll:. In my experience there's nothing you can do to stop a degenerate from stealing your stuff if they want it bad enough. Your best defense is...
I suppose you could mount it with the bottom facing the rear of the truck? That would tuck the lever up out of harms way. You'd just have to reach a little further up under the truck to operate it. Or you could make your own skid plate that you could reach around the side of?
This is the cleanest install I've seen thus far...http://cornbit.com/media.php?id=1575497567336635350_1603454089 Also check out his Instagram page to see this whole build (@jony_bakes
Yes I have, my father (Auto glass installer for 50 yrs) taught me how to do it when I was 10yrs old. I was proficient with it before he could ash his cigarette LOL! Now that was 35yrs ago, and the kit consisted of a buffing pad fitted to a cordless drill and what he called jeweler's Rouge. The...
You know you can buff most scratches out of glass. Here's a basic kit from Eastwood https://www.eastwood.com/glass-polishing-kit-for-deep-scratches-5658.html?SRCCODE=PLA00020&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIhLPTkuCM2gIVhDyBCh0n_AviEAQYAyABEgLgVvD_BwE
Yeah it's no wonder these power steering pump brackets are notorious for cracking. I'm sure its from bolts backing out. Anyway after 3 trips to the hardware store at $2.59 per bolt. I'm done playing games with bolts, heck even the stud in the back of the pump was loose? It's a new pump anyways...
Had to replace a missing bolt off the back of the power steering pump for the 3rd time:-?. So I took all the fasteners off, cleaned them, and used red Loctite on all of them. Not my first choice but 3 strikes, and enough is enough.
Yeah cool article. The point of an over drive for me wasn't really so much for fuel economy, but just to be able to reliably go 70-80 MPH on the highway while pulling a trailer. Gear vendors must have revamped their instructions sense I bought mine. I had to call their tech line to find out...
These that I just installed have a finned aluminum housing, which would suggest they get warm. Though perhaps just in the back, and not inside the lenses? I suppose if you couldn't find heated ones, you could rig up some extra hoses from your washer fluid bottle to spray onto the headlights...
